Was it a message or evil?

I had a dream last night I hugged my grandad and told him I love him and it felt so real I remember smelling him and feeling the fibres of his jacket but I woke up and realised he’s dead and has been for three years.

was it a message from him to say he’s ok or was it a demon or something trying to catch me out?

Neither. It was a regular dream. Don't make up supernatural stuff to make your life more interesting, accept that you too have a regular brain that can explore memories, feelings and senses during the REM cycle.
