Why are some people able to see or hear ghosts but I can't?

Even my younger 13 year-old brother used to hear invisible footsteps approaching his bedroom and dreamed about the same man. It was a nightmare of a bad man chasing him and laughing. I've tried explaining him it's just bad dreams and ghosts don't exist, it's all in his mind.

It continued for another week and so we switched rooms. Nothing happened while I was there. We eventually moved out for different reasons.

Some people are like my brother. They can either see, hear or perceive ghosts. I can't. I've been in a supposedly haunted house once and it was a waste of time. Nothing. I even once said as a joke ''Hey dead, stop fooling people. I dare you to show up. If you don't then you don't exist''. Nothing. Why are some people able to experience ghosts but I can't?

Perhaps, it would be best to think in terms of sprits. There’s a whole spiritual world that we can not see.. it’s Biblical. It is also Biblical that there are demonic spirits…And often they will appear as light. It’s Biblical to describe them as “Good Angels” on behalf of God and “Bad Angels” on behalf of Satan.
—Longer story but Free Will to chose one’s status has everything to do with what’s going on in the unseen spiritual world. Try reading the Bible…and Genesis about Crestion and the Fall.-The first 3 chapters. The closer that you get to God…read His Word…the more Spiritualness will enter into your life.

There's no evidence for the Greek and Roman gods, but according to you, absence of evidence is not evidence of absence, so I guess we have to entertain the possibility of their existence. And the existence of every other God that man has created throughout history. How can you not see the flaw in this reasoning?

Actually, no, I don't have to "provide empirical evidence", not for every claim, because there are many claims for which such evidence would be impossible, inappropriate and just plain silly (ex. I don't need to provide empirical evidence to you that I exist).
And why do you equate "rational" with "scientific"?
Look, go away and come back after you've studied philosophy, maths, and just about every other pertinent topic that isn't one of the sciences. You seem to be under the impression that in order for something to be plausible, it has to be amenable to the scientific method, which is just absurd.
