If God is real, why didn't He save someone who believed in Him from death?

Last week, some guy posted on Facebook about how much he loves God. Out of nowhere, two days later, he died in a car accident. You would think that if God WERE real, He would have saved this guy. To me, this just shows that God isn't real. But of course, believers are gonna run to the "God works in mysterious ways" excuse, aren't they?

Of course not; we'll use logic and point out that your assessment makes no sense. If God is following the Christian philosophy, then He wouldn't always intervene unquestioningly, because that would create slavish devotion in His worshipers, which isn't the goal. That might fly if He were following the Muslim philosophy, since that IS closer to their stated goal, but unquestioning intervention there would create mercenary followers, who'd only keep worshiping as long as the saving kept up. If God's following the Jewish philosophy, then always intervening would annihilate the human capacity for self-reliance and *human* intervention to improve the lives of others, which runs counter to THEIR goals.

Your reasoning only works if God is incapable of logic; but then, any existing ethical quandary just makes you people think God can't be real, doesn't it?

I guess it's fair to say it's a bit of a stretch of the use of the word, but it still communicates that most of these people aren't even familiar enough with the Bible to even be asking the right questions.

I mean to answer this question fully, you would have to basically explain the entire Bible.

I don't think I know it all, I just read a lot and educate myself as much as I can. I've worked alongside priests and rabbis. I've learned about what's known of the origins of the Bible passages and which ones are missing and why. I have spoken to so many experts who were kind enough to explain how scholars argue and contemplate over every word in the texts and the different ways these interpretations play out into our lives and the validity of different ones.

If you can't even talk about the Bible like that, we may as well not even be reading the same book which is why I consider it prejudiced because you never learned enough about it for your opinion on it to be considered anything other than a preconceived notion based on no actual experience (the asker technically knows almost nothing about it) and you can't reason on something you know nothing about.

I know she knows nothing about it based on the way she's asking the question. Therefore it fits fairly snugly as prejudice with the exception that she might have a reason to think what she does that isn't directly related to Bible texts but rather what other people have told her it says. But now that's starting to sound awfully similar to another conversation were having isn't it?

Still, if only that were to happen and if it was possible then life would actually be irrelevant. Bodies are a test and the souls are the report card. Life exists to determine where every soul belongs. In alternative universes there is an infinite number of versions of a single person.
