I consider myself a weak Athiest/agnostic. I lack a belief in god and think its also not possible to know god exists or not and see no evidence for one.
how do you view atheists?
I consider myself a weak Athiest/agnostic. I lack a belief in god and think its also not possible to know god exists or not and see no evidence for one.
how do you view atheists?
I have a negative opinion of majority of American atheists, and those in the Western world in general. For several reasons. They are often quite narrow-minded, despite their claims to the contrary. They are usually extremely arrogant, they believe that they are more smart than others, that they are superior than others, that people who do not share their views or values are more stupid and backward than them. They like to impose their beliefs on others (they like to criticize Christians for this, but they usually do it even more actively and aggressively). And contrary to their claims that they stand for freedom and the right to choose, they are often judgmental and moralizing towards others, of course according to their usually rather... strange understandings of morality. They are, like the feminists or LGBT community or other leftist groups, very fond of portraying themselves as victims or oppressed, even though they are actually privileged. (for example, they have a disproportionate great influence in the media, the education system, in state schools there is no right to religious education or the right to pray because of them, even though most people and taxpayers are religious and want it). They often embody everything they claim to dislike about religion - fanaticism, narrow-mindedness, lack of analytical thinking, intolerance of differing opinions, sense of some moral superiority over others. They are very easy to manipulate. They tend to accept whatever the propaganda tells them is progressive, modern, democratic, scientific, etc.
well thats a lot of hate for one group... generalizing is terrible by the way.
Well, I'm not generalizing, I didn't accidentally say most atheists, not all, but definitely those who are the loudest tend to be quite intolerant and aggressive. Some of them may be good people. And just because you don't approve of someone or a group of people doesn't mean you hate them. If a person thinks that homosexuality is wrong, it does not mean that he hates all gays, for example.
oh you think homosexuality is wrong? not a surprise there...
Well, I think it would be strange if a Christian or a Muslim said that homosexuality is right. In fact, I'm totally ok with gays as long as they don't try to impose their lifestyle as normal and redefine society's traditional understanding of marriage, family, etc. In general, it is not surprising that atheists are more likely to accept gay marriage, abortion, extramarital sex, materialism, drug use, etc. The more irreligious a person is, the more inclined is to accept these things. Which is proof that atheists tend to have more... shall we say different understandings of morality, right and wrong, etc.
"t, I'm totally ok with gays as long as they don't try to impose their lifestyle as normal and redefine society's traditional understanding of marriage, family, etc"
it is normal :)
" Which is proof that atheists tend to have more... shall we say different understandings of morality, right and wrong, etc. "
ahh so their way of living is wrong after all according to you? excellent
so what would you do if they did try to become more prominent in our society? atheists and homosexuals? would you hate that? by prominent i mean they are more abundant and you pretty much can't go a single day without encountering them either in person, at work, in the media.
how would you feel about that?
After all, if gay lifestyle and gay marriage is normal for you, there are many people who disagree with you, people have different views on this and many other issues. There's nothing wrong with that. A few years ago, the vast majority of people thought so, and I think society was better then.
But society would be worse if they were more normalized correct? this is what you think?
I have nothing against them, I just maybe don't approve of the fact that they are atheists or homosexuals. They can have very good other qualities and be good people. For example, I don't mind if my doctor is an atheist, as long as he's a good doctor, if he doesn't start talking about how stupid and backward Christians are, I'm ok with that. I don't mind if my colleague is gay, sexuality is a personal thing and as long as he keeps it in his private life I don't care. It's a problem when he starts waving the rainbow flag and explaining how proud he is to be gay and how if we don't accept this behavior as normal we're bad and retarded people.
With the rise of the American Taliban, I just don't think now is the time to war with Atheists.
yeah their existence and actions only helps reaffirm my stance lol. im glad im not a religious person anymore
That's the thing. They turn off everyone to religion.
And they are not religious. They are not spiritual. They don't even believe in Christ. It is just a method for obtaining and wielding power.
American Taliban? Is that actually a thing? What's going on in your country ffs?
@ArtemisSilver Handmaids tale was a blueprint not just a piece of fiction for these folks
I'm sure their oppressive militant sect predates the novel. I'm just shocked that a named terrorist organization is operating openly in the US
@ArtemisSilver Hun, NOBODY has called themselves “The American Taliban”! That’s just an insult some people on my side have nicknamed the 62 million people who voted for Trump.
Oh, well that's pretty funny considering grandpa Biden is the one who gave the actual Taliban back Afghanistan with a nice new arsenal for free.
I'm really tired of the stupid hyperbolic nonsense from American politics. As if reality isn't problem enough they have to twist everything to serve their tribalism.
Dumbasses are just squabbling about red vs. blue, while civilization collapses around them.
@ArtemisSilver You are really tired of the stupid hyperbolic nonsense from American politics? I live here! That’s why I don’t get into politics or political discussions (here or IRL), I tried to, but it just turns into the tribalistic nonsense you mentioned earlier! I’m definitely not a Republican, OR a Trump supporter. I’m from a multi-generational Democrat family on both sides. (Although my dad is from England, so whoever are not the conservatives… thats who he would have voted for), yet if I so much as disagree on minutiae I am immediately accused of being a Trump supporter! It’s insane, it would be like if I was gay but disagreed on one little thing about the LGBTQAAIP agenda, and they called me straight, I makes no sense! @Still-alive is one of the few people I’ve met here who doesn't do that. Believe me, I'm sure most Americans are sick of the tribalism!
@ArtemisSilver Biden? Dude, that deal was negotiated by your boy. If Biden had reneged on the deal you would have blamed Biden for what fallout fell into his lap with respect to staying in Afghanistan.
Which of course is one of the few things I actually agree with Trump on. We were in Afghanistan for over 20 years. If we were going to change trick them into accepting democracy, we would have done that 18 years ago.
It was past time to leave.
As for the beliefs of the Taliban, you must be a comedian. My beliefs do not intersect with yours or the Taliban in anyway. I may be a Christian, but I do not need to force my beliefs on others. And the only reason for trying to make this nation into the religious state of the Taliban is for the consolidation of power.
@CrazyGirl2You can whine and complain about that nonsense of being a democrat all you wish. The fact remains, we are facing the end of democracy in these United States.
That is not a political issue. That is a battle between having the right to vote or not. That is a battle over the freedom to disagree with your own government.
So you can pretend this is just a political disagreement, when in fact it is a fight to have a democracy that is diverse where folks can have their own opinions but still maintain their rights and freedoms.
"My boy?" I'm not American secondly I was shocked that Trump won, it's like giving the kingdom to the court jester.
I'm just sick of all the stupid shit zealots form either group post.
You need to stop assuming things Roland it makes you look foolish.
What an idiot! This is EXACTLY the hyperbolic bullshit I was talking about. If I mention that I’m a liberal, MAGA Trump fan-boys will accuse me of “whining” then say something stupid like “ we are facing the end of democracy in these United States”. But… If I say that I believe Biden looks like he is medically unfit to hold the office”. I’ll get Dems saying the EXACT same thing, but they’ll add on that I’m a nazi or something equally offensive, even though I’m Jewish! Its seriously not worth it to even say anything. However, in person it’s a LOT more difficult to just ignore a question, and stay out of it. So I usually act like a dumb blonde, play w/ my hair and say something like “Oh I don’t watch politics.. OMG which one is the cute donkey, donkeys are like soooooooo cute, not as cute as horses though. Omg, I LOVE horses. Have you ever ridden a horse? No? Omg, it’s like soooooooo amazing, they are like psycho or something, because they can TOTES sense human emotions, it’s amazing”! Then thank them for something they didn’t do, and walk away. It’s worked so far!
@ArtemisSilver Dude, you have to be an American. Because all you do is talk about American politics. Why would some foreigner give two shakes about Biden or Trump? Do you find me opinionated about the political leadership of other nations?
Well I'm Canadian, so whatever stupidity you people get up to echos over here. Also I'm not really looking forward to the raider gangs coming from the south once the US properly descends into anarchy, and then there's the fact that the US is home to the global reserve currency and that us policy choices are usually copied across the western world.
Most of my comments just deride mindless tribalism or suggest reforms or following the middle ground to stability.
On a personal level I don't give a damn about which old fart you elect other than the fact that whoever it is, gets to play lion tamer to China and Russia, so I'd like them to be up to the task.
Biden is essentially senile, and the world is in the middle of a climate and economic collapse as well as on the edge of nuclear war. How can he be trusted with this? Trump either FFS, maybe elect someone who's going to have to live with the consequences of their decisions for a good long time?
As for your lack of opinion on the governments of other nations, being ignorant of something shouldn't be a point of pride.
@ArtemisSilver your solution though is to stay home on voting day right? because why bother? just checking...
No my solution is to speak out against corruption and probably vote for what in your country would be a third party candidate. The idea of reducing the complexity of political discourse into a two party system is laughable unless the goal is just to provide a false sense of control for the public.
I'd also advocate for more active participation of citizens in government beyond just the odd vote.
But by all means make whatever reductionist assumptions you like, who cares if you're right or wrong? As long as you're getting points for "your side".
@ArtemisSilver "in your country would be a third party candidate"
cool throwing your vote away.
@ArtemisSilver Why would you feed a troll like this guy? You understand that no matter what you like he’s just going to find fault with it, no matter what you say, he’s just gonna disagree, if I suddenly said, “I fucking LOVE Trump” he would find SOMETHING to disagree with because he is just a deeply unhappy individual. I actually love that the Republican Party is getting more diverse… but why do the most vocal always SEEM to be the craziest?
You're probably right. There's no point in trying with some people.
Doug, you are NEVER throwing away your vote, if you vote your conscience! He’s actually right, because you seem to have bought into the Republican AND Democrat propaganda that voting third party was “throwing away the vote” or more specifically by constantly referring to third party candidates as “spoilers” who take votes away from the “real parties”… MOST republicans now are more Libertarian than Republican, and more Democrats than ever (59% according to a recent survey) are ought-right socialists. SOURCE: news.yahoo.com/...s-favor-socialism-181600844.html . But if those who where completely sick and tired of the same old bullshit, just vote for who they believe in, instead of who the press tells them can win… actual change might happen! And it’s hard to be polarized when there are more than two viable parties!
@CrazyGirl2 "Doug, you are NEVER throwing away your vote, if you vote your conscience! "
you are throwing it away because of our 'first past the post' voting system. The closest we EVER came at electing any third party was Ross perot in 1992... its never happened and it will never happen as long as this voting system remains... yes i would absolutely LOVE if we could just vote with our integrity but unfortunately this is not the reality for our country. So now i vote for who i think is the lesser of the two evils.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/First-past-the-post_voting
@CrazyGirl2 ahh excuse me it was Teddy Roosevelt with his 'Bull Moose' party in 1912 that actually came the closest. and it ended up splitting the republican vote resulting in Woodrow Wilson winning (who i think was one of our worst presidents by the way) www.statista.com/.../
Okay 👍🏼, As long as everyone believes that, there will never be change! We already have two (2) senators that are neither Republican nor Democrat. Imagine if that was repeated just 25 times, and independents would control the senate! Im tired of people who are saying nothing will change, so why bother!
@CrazyGirl2 there won't be change doing it the other way either just gridlock up the yin yang like we have now and nothing good gets done or passed. instead i would vote in as many dems as possible and sort out all the bad ones from the good later. perhaps if we get more progressives in congress and the senate we might be able to switch from first past the post to instead the more preferred ranked voting system https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ranked_voting
but lets be real that won't happen anytime soon.
GOOD! Gridlock is fantastic! Why doe you think the founders made it so difficult and arduous to get a new law passed? They wanted as little interference from Washington as possible. And. Will people stop calling this country a democracy! We are NOT a democracy, we have NEVER been a democracy, and hopefully we never will be a democracy! The United States is a Representative Republic an we always have been. The difference is:
˚ In a democracy, laws are made directly by the voting majority leaving the rights of the minority largely unprotected.
˚ In a republic, laws are made by representatives chosen by the people and must comply with a constitution that specifically protects the rights of the minority from the will of the majority.

P. S. Im really glad to see you citing your sources. Thats always the first sign that I am dealing with an honest debater, debating in good faith.
@ArtemisSilver No, that is not a thing. If you are Canadian, you should be much more angry with your own leadership than ours. Because your nation out democrats the democrats in the United States. You have conversations in your nation that are not possible here. You have socialized healthcare, you have strict gun laws, you have "socialism" all over your society. You would never elect a trump there. But here you are preaching this hypocrital nonsense to Americans.
I don't know a thing about Canadian politics. Nor do I care to. But it is hilarious to me you make this claim that Biden is driving to some destination that Canada has set te gold standard on.
As for your views on "climate", obviously it is not a concern to you. Because you seem to know to bite your tongue about that at GaG. And the world is always on the edge of a nuclear crisis. It would probably be more productive if you elected a leader who spoke out against nuclear weapons than to whine about ours. We have had leaders try to reign in the nuclear arms race. Those changes and that direction have been undone without so much as one single post from you.
So maybe if you are serious, you could try being less disingenuous. It might prove to be a more effective, more convincing strategy.
I can't say I dislike them. I wouldn't date one or feel we would have much in common but still respect them as a person. I will still be a friend to them because if they needed one. The fact that they don't believe in God, I mean I can't force it unto someone. The Holy Spirit is who works in them and in all of us and also not just any God because anyone can be anyone's God but I believe in Jesus Christ. I read the whole Bible about a year ago in about a year. There's a lot of truth in it and I can feel the Lord working in me. He blesses us more than what we deserve. There is this love, peace and joy when we take the time to seek him, talk to him, pray. When we open up our heart and let him in.
You read the whole bible now? cover to cover? all the old testament?
Yes I have, it took me about a year to read it but there's still so much more to learn. I started to read it again about a chapter a day. It's amazing honestly everything the Lord does for us. This is the one I have
www.amazon.com/.../ref=sr_1_1
Prayer is powerful. I encourage anyone on here that is at their lowest, who doesn't have any joy in life, who has struggles in life, who can't find their purpose in life to seek him with all their heart. Watch him transform you. You are born again. He gives us wisdom and discernment for every situation. I can't express it enough how many blessings he gives us but he also does want us to talk to him. He wants us to give all of our burdens to him. He is there to listen and to guide us <3
I'm agnostic so I think there may be something, whether thats a bloody alien or a 'god' doesn't matter because I don't follow it but I also don't close my mind off to what 'could be'.
Athiests should be treated just the same as the people in your life, they're either good people or not. I don't get along with athiests who insult religion constantly, say they only believe whats infront of their eyes (so you dont believe in bacteria?) and have this arrogance about them. I like people who are just chill about their beliefs, no forcefulness no right or wrong, arrogance or ignorance etc. Regardless of athiest, muslim or what not.

They are just people without faith... nothing else. Some of them are nice, some can be very condescending towards believers. As a believer in God, have had personal experiences that have proved God definitely does exist, it saddens me to know that a lot of them don't take the time to actually find God first before denying His existence. I've talked with some them to show how life and earth here aren't a big coincidence or mistake but a lot choose not to listen. In the end I like to think a lot of them find God in their own way and timing before leaving this earth not ever knowing God or accepting Jesus. Eternity is long time to regret never giving yourself the chance to know who God is.
" it saddens me to know that a lot of them don't take the time to actually find God first before denying His existence"
i did try. i was a devout catholic for a long time... but i feel much much differently now. it is a bit patronizing to suggest atheists haven't tried by the way...
I'm referring to those who never tried. There's a difference between someone who has never tried to look for faith and person who had faith but gradually lost it. Anyway, you said you tried, what did you if u might ask?
i went through a tumultuous spiritual journey. i went to church zealously without missing a week. i prayed the rosary many times, i was a campus minister at my high school.
trust me i did it all... but in the end... i really didn't feel like anything special happened. studying history has only confirmed for me that religion really is just a tool to be used to control the masses. i just don't see the evidence for god. just about everything 'supernatural' seeming can be explained scientifically and if it can't... then we just don't know... yet. see for non-religious folks 'i don't know' is an acceptable answer but it always seemed like religious people in power like to try to fill in the banks whenever science wasn't able to explain things yet.
anyways im pretty steadfast in my stance and have not been moved from it in over a decade.
Going to church is a good thing but that doesn't necessarily mean you have close relationship with God. There's plenty of people who go to church and still don't know who God is, they just go for attendance or to keep up a certain look to others. Another thing it says you prayed the rosary but did you actually have a full on conversation with God? You don't need to repeat the same phrases over in order for God to hear you. You could say hail Mary 100 times but that's not real communication. All you have to do us go to a quiet place, get on your knees and pray and God will listen. God listens to a sincere heart.
"did you actually have a full on conversation with God? "
yes...
look i can already see the condescension in your replies here so i will not further discuss this with you.
You also say you went through rough spiritual journey. There's a reason for that and it's often to test how much we really have faith and trust in God. Many people will love God when things are going right for them, but second life gets hard they start questioning God. That shows where the weak points are in your faith and where they need to strengthen. Being a believer doesn't exempt you from pain and lessons, even job was faithful and God still tested him to show what real faith is not just to the devil but believers and non believers. I went through some tough times and had my faith shaken a little bit but in the end it makes you a stronger person. You'll never enjoy the sun unless it rains , snows, and even hails a little bit through out life. God never promised life will be easy and never have hardships, even Jesus didn't have an easy life but He still remain faithful and fulfilled what He had to do. So I really hope that helps and I hope you do find your way back to God. <3
It wasn't condensation, it was a real genuine question.
yes to you it seems genuine and serious... but you really oughtta stop patronizing atheists like that. A lot of us have done exactly as you suggest you have the better answer than like billions of others.. its also a bit arrogant too.
There's also no 'back to god' for me as i do not see the evidence for one and as explained we cannot even know if he exists or not. i do not see it as a sadness or a bad thing... and if you do that just makes you kind of a jerk tbh spare your pity for people that actually need it like homeless people or something.
Isn't the point of atheism the complete denial of a higher power without evidence?
I'm agnostic and I don't think it's a good idea to so readily dismiss that possible existence... It comes off as a little arrogant. And really, I feel like the atheist's main objection is how fanatic religious people interpret their faith.
I don't know, every time I look up at the night sky, it's just hard to believe that we, as a species, came to exist out of nothing... But at the same time, people have a strange way of describing what God is like.
"Isn't the point of atheism the complete denial of a higher power without evidence?"
nope
Did I word that wrong?
Maybe "denial" was not the right word.
it's simply a lack of belief in god. there's not ideology attached to it. there are also varying degrees of atheism and atheists. one may disbelieve strongly their is not god or there's those like me who just feel there likely isn't one. I don't make a strong denial about God... more of 'i don't see the evidence' for one.
They seem like religious fanatics that just happen to not worship anything, beyond their own beliefs... but still very strongly believe in that and get pushy on others, just like religious fanatic's do.
It is another type of religion that isn't organized.
lol wow. strongly disagree with you. it is not a religion.. its just a lack of beleif in something. is 'not collecting stamps' a hobby? no right? so atheism is not a religion.
More referring to how aggressive they can get. How pushy, mean and rude and unaccepting of others beliefs. They believe so strongly in it that they want to destroy anyone who doesn't believe as they do.
As least the ones I've known are that way. Lost friendships over that simply because I disagreed with them and they become mean, rude and violent.
Same thing religious people do that want to force others to believe as them... only in this case they wanted to force me to believe as them.
You're confusing anti-theistic atheists with atheists
@bingbongbangbung I am just clearly stating my personal experience with Atheists as I have not met one that will live and let live in person yet. I wasn't even aware there is more than one kind of Atheist out there... but makes sense, if it is like a religion there will be different kinds of Atheists I suppose.
There is probably a dozen other kinds too...😂 not that I give a fuck.
yes there are many kinds of atheists and atheism
@Aerissa_Jade & @Still-alive So I guess you could say there are many different denominations of atheists? 🤣. On a more serious note, I have seen what Jade’s talking about. Given my experience with the church after I was raped, I certainly didn’t want to believe in anything those monsters believed in, But I have seen atheists asking believers how they could believe in a “flying spaghetti monster” or just openly mocking believers! I may not believe in God, but I completely respect those who do, to the contrary, I actually admire their faith!
Look, it’s perfectly fine if one does not “collect stamps”, it is NOT okay, however, to openly mock people who DO collect stamps! Just look at the nativity. I dont believe a 13yo virgin gave birth to god, but so what? Having a nativity in front of city hall doesn’t make me loose my shit and file a law-suit to ban it, because it’s SO offensive! How could you be THAT offended by something you do not believe in? Then there are the REALLY “religious” atheists some of whom actually make a living on the college speaking circuit, and TV. They’re kinda like the “evangelists of atheism” writing books about how stupid all these believers are, and if they would only convert to atheism, all their problems would be fixed! I don’t think there is anything inherently errant in comparing militant atheism to a religion as Jade did, especially when they are trying to convert as many people to atheism as possible, and doing a really great job since Christian church attendance is down worldwide! I won’t even call myself an atheist because I don’t want to be associated with those people! I just say I’m agnostic. You know, I don’t even know what agnostic means, and while I know that I could google it, or just highlight it and select “look-up” and the definition would appear instantly in a little box on my screen, but I literally SO do not care about religion, that I won’t even waste my time looking it up. THAT is an atheist!
God was just a human who did good many to people even to whole towns and country.
Anyone who exceeds in things which a average person won't think or could do becomes a god to us... those who fought for a tribe is god of them... those who brought good luck to business became god... in modern world we watch them in tv Usain Bolt is a god for most of sprint runner... NBA players are gods for every enthusiast and every military person is a god for those who have seen wars and survived it because of someone else's sacrifice and their fight
I am one. To me, the question of whether or not there is a god is independent of the question of whether or not any religion has correctly guessed its nature. Religion has repeatedly offered magical explanations for events only to sometimes violently condemn logical explanations at first, but then eventually accept them. This is a bit like whackamole when it comes to things like evolution and the solar system, but it turns out there is also a logical explanation for the existence of religion, requiring no magical explanation. And that's the boss mole, because if there doesn't need to be magic for religion to exist then none of their claims of divine magic need to have happened for them to believe it did. If you can reproduce a full religion using the laws of nature to steer people's belief to the unnatural, then that's what we should assume happened to create the religions we already have.
Everyone is entitled to their beliefs, but I think it's interesting that every time we peel back a layer of the scientific question we his find more questions.
Also, I think simulation theory is a scientists way of realizing there was a prime mover in the beginning.
I am a former Catholic who's branched out to study many religions and spiritual concepts over the years.
I think there's God, and more still out there that most people don't perceive, but that focusing on it too long and intensely leads down the path of madness and so should be part but not the whole of our human experience.
I think they, as a group, are interesting people to learn about. The fact that there's such a large amount of them in the population is a pretty good reflection of current society. Its odd that some religious people can be so negative about atheists (some, not all).
I don't have anything against them. It's not a problem with me if you don't believe in God. We don't all believe in the same things or follow the same religion (or lack thereof). The only things I hate are Christians and other religious people being assholes and discriminating against atheists and people who mock other people for believing in God.
Indifferent. As long as you're an overall nice, respectful person, religion, or lack of, doesn't phase me. I've met plenty of "Christians" that are far from good people.
And then I've met some of the sweetest people that are agonist or atheist.
I don't have issues with them so long as they don't talk down and act like condescending or mean spirited dickheads because I choose to believe in something they don't.
I don't care if they choose to believe in God and I won't force my beliefs on them. I will talk about it if the conversation comes up or they ask, but will stop conversing if it becomes like the mentioned state above. I have no desire to argue or be ridiculed by people over something like that.
I like other atheists provided they're not nutjobs or bigots, just like how I don't mind religious people if they're not nutjobs or bigots.
I think some religions are more valid and upstanding than others (I prefer Sihks to Christians, for example).
I like atheists if that's who they are. I have a favourable view of anyone who chooses their path for themselves.
I don’t care but I don't support atheism. Even if God doesn't exists, at least the fake existence of god is giving me hopes for the next day. That's what my 2L language teacher said and I totally agree with this. Also there must be a power, science is just a light on how things works but we don't know how it is really happening on it's own. That's how I view it. However I don't support any religion whatsoever, just a bit spiritual.
Crazy how Atheists tend to be sweeter and less crazy than Christians, Catholics, Mormons, Jehovah's Witnesses, etc
*takes that as a compliment* lol
@npiatanas Probably because you haven't met any good ones, just like I have yet to meet any genuinely "good" religious people
Mormons are usually pretty nice in my experience. Catholics though are mean as hell particularly to eachother for some reason.
@ArtemisSilver well mormons have their own sexual assault stats as well. maybe they will outflank catholics some day nypost.com/.../
I don't have any issues with them as long as they remain respectful. In most of my experiences, they have not lol.
@Twalli and I spoke from my experiences. But I did not say all atheists were rude and disrespectful. And it seems like you're insinuating that all religious people spend all their time trying to convert atheists. Lol I can't and don't wanna speak for all religious people. Especially since I don't consider myself religious. Relationshi over religion. Sorry about your experiences but don't protect them over here.
I have a very peculiar stance on religion myself, i belive God exists but i believe that EVERY religion is wrong and arrogant in thinking that there religion is the right one and the only one that understands God, so yeah i got no problems with Atheists and Theists.
The same way I feel about people of every other religion. I have no issue with them so long as they don't push their beliefs and ideas onto me. But when you start pushing your views and beliefs on me, I'm quick with a middle finger and f bomb.
Here in Seattle, almost everyone I know is an atheist. In my 30 years in high tech, I've only rarely had colleagues who practiced any religion. Among my local friends I don't know anyone who attends services.
My bro used to be liked this, when he dated a religious girl he became like one and now their married and he is the most religious one in our family. can't play prank on him since then coz he will backfire religious stuff that makes me the evil one
Indifferent, but I tend to favor them because the Church here is too powerful and has too much wealth, effectively a rival political power. And I need people who stand with me and my party, not my rivals.
I don't mind them.. They are people just like everybody else.. Many nice, many not so nice.. If I didn't believe in God myself I would be an Atheist myself.. Although some Atheist have made their own religion out of being Anti-theist..
