How would you explain the vast increase in christians, from 600 million in year 1910 to more than that, 800 million, now, of protestant alone?

the number of Christians in the world, has almost quadrupled from about 600 million in 1910 to more than 2 billion in 2020. Christianity remains the world's largest religious group.

800 million catching up to ancient hindu's 900 m.

Despite the millions of europeans and Americans dying in 2 world wars... which reduced the total christians, yet the total multiplied.

and this increase was without any scary catholic inquisition, so how can we explain these incongruous facts?

we are having a pretty much global recession right now. people in lower socio-economic status strata have a higher likelyhood of being religious. so that's why there's more religious people "in general". the increase in christians is actually slightly smaller as the increase in muslims currently.

i did not say that you become religious when you become poor. i said that people in lower socio-economic status have a higher likelyhood of being religious than people of higher socio economic status. i'm talking about correlation, you're talking about causation. it's not the same thing. what i mentioned was not a "a theory" at all. so it can't be a poor theory, cause it's a true fact that can objectively be verified and observed through multivariate analysis.

The population of the planet has increased 1 billion in 1910 to 7 billion in 2010. So the there are 7 times the number of people on the planet. So more people born and born into Christian families means more Christians, of anything by percentage the number of Christians have dropped.

Not necessarily, Christianity has spread significantly in some countries such as Africa, but that also means that Christianity also decreased in other countries that were predominantly Christian such as the west. A lot of that is due to various missions and schools that converted by education, if you wanted a free education for your child your only choice is to convert at least nominally. That doesn't represent truth as most in the west are at least somewhat familiar with Christianity and its beliefs and have rejected the religion of their upbringing. True conversion would assume a constant in numbers in predominately Christian areas and an increase in other areas. That's not the case as I pointed out earlier the percentage has remained more or less constant.

The sad truth is that out of those people in the early 1900s, not necessarily 1910, but born around 1930-50s let's say, they are mostly Christian and still alive and are probably a larger % of that 800million. That number would be dramatically decreased when they die off. Assuming the 2nd coming of Jesus Christ hasn't occurred yet.

@strateguy632 actually I got my high school diploma without ANY studying or homework for the last 2 and a half years of school. 0. I did them over zoom class. And I graduated with no exams, the only assignments in grade 12 were all easily answered using quick internet search because they ask the same questions other students every year.

Although high school diploma has not meant a lot during the past decades anyway and many don't consider it "esucation" like they consider college, still, the standards are declining, and now people can own language models akin to chat GPT4 that work offline on inexpensive hardware which does all the work in seconds that could take you an hour to complete.

I already addressed that in my answer to this question. Bigger world population. Asia is not only Buddhists, hindus and muslims. There are christians too. Especially in Korea. It is like this: Europe was mostly Christian. That is distorted now because of immigration and Christianity is in decline worldwide.

Europeans colonized the Americas. Thats billions of people altogether. A lot of Christians. Then you have other colonies in Africa, Pacific Islands, Australia etc. Again, all mostly Christian.
Colonization over the last couple of centuries and population explosion because of scientific advances. This is the reason.
