Has Pope Francis gone absolutely bonkers?

Pope Francis the Argentinan, said that transgenders can now be baptized, serve as godparents and even be witnesses at weddings. Is the Catholic Church losing its way, and is Pope Francis about to bring about the collapse of the Catholic Church. Or, should these new reforms of inclusivity be an example for other religions, like Islam, to follow suit. We are in the 21st century after all. Maybe it's time for religions to due away with certain practices. Or, maybe this is the work of the devil and the Catholic church deserves to be mocked for losing its morals and self-respect. I don't know, what to you guys think? Has the devil himself infiltrated the Vatican. Or maybe the Church is getting desperate for members. Or perhaps Pope Francis genuinely cares about tollarance and civil rights. Or maybe, the Pope himself is a homosexual. He's never had a wife or procreated, at least with women, as far as we know. Do you think the next Pope will continue his reforms, or will Pope Francis be the final Pope? Let me know what you guys think.

Many senior clergy, up to and including Pope Francis, are clearly at least greatly influenced by the spirit of the age. And yes, some are downright evil. Francis didn't happen in a vacuum though. He was a long time coming. For at least a hundred years before Jorge Mario Bergoglio (Francis' birth name) was even born, there were nefarious actors and heretics at work in the Church.

Now, it has been pretty clearly demonstrated by this point that modernization, innovation, inclusivity, and the like have had disastrous effects on the Catholic Church, and churches in general. If someone goes to church and gets the same things from podcasts, TV shows and movies, or the culture in general, why should or would they bother going to church at all?

That said, will the next pope continue with Francis' vision for the Church (which, for the record, I think is profoundly evil)? That remains to be seen. I would certainly hope that there are enough cardinal-electors who have enough pastoral care and concern for their faithful and have had enough of Francis' antics and don't want them to continue when he's gone and will elect someone like Cardinal Burke, Mueller, Erdo, or Eijk.

But it's going to take a lot more than one pope to fix all this. This and many other of the things that Francis has said and done will be reversed and anathematized at some point, but I expect to be long gone by the time that happens.

Most transgenders who are Catholic are already baptised at birth. I don't think it was ever enforced or could be enforced the transgenders can't be Godparents, I mean a transgender could already be a godparent. The Catholic Church requires two witnesses to sign a legal certificate that the ceremony was performed, they do t even need to be a Catholic. You notice there's no mention of readers for the mass?
It makes sense for the Catholic Church to bring sinners into the church to try to turn then away from their sins as Jesus would have done.

I was thinking the same thing, but this seemed more like it's referring to people who converted after transitioning, because obviously they weren't trans yet if they were baptized at birth. I kind of agree that he probably just wanted to make it "official", because like you said, it was never enforced, or no one ever cared or asked questions, so I don't know why it would be different now.

Not really. Who are they really harming except maybe themselves? The trans folks over met don't seem any happier after their transition. A lot of them need help.

Baptism at birth is not Biblical. Baptism occurs when you have been saved and profess your faith in Christ, and not until. Otherwise it is nothing more than taking a short bath.

Pope Francis lost his way a long time ago, because he never had one to begin with. Priests are supposed to be people chosen by God to lead His church in said area or way, not people who are elected by people to be preists or inherit presithood. Priesthood is not inherited, neither is the power of God because that's what a preist is supposed to have, not just be a talker like old-arse Pope over here.

The Pope is a waste of space and the Catholic church has largely lost it's way.

I don't have any genuine compliments to give the current Pope. I think he's a globalist shill, a hypocrite, and his leadership has been a net negative for the Catholic church. Any benefit of the doubt I want to give him gets thrown out the window almost every time he makes the news.

It's pretty simple. It's called pandering, it's what religion does. If one don't more people will just leave, you building a cult the first thing you have to do is think about how to make yourself the good guy. Same even goes for dictatorship or just simply trying to claim fame.
