Hell comes from Gehenna which is a location in Jerusalem that was a trash dump.
The work Gehenna was translated to Hell (originally the name of a organ goddess)

Yes come to think about it. It has been known by that name as far back as the bible was written. It's "Type" and "Antitype". The "Antitype" is Hell being a trashdump in the old Jerusalem, "Type" is Hell as a place on the New Earth after the 1000 years have ended that the people who are not with God will be judged and will burn in the lake of fire as the bible says.
Like I said, was a land where people did child sacrifices not really a trash dump.

Nothing new... Hell is all over the earth:
Hell, California, a demolished ghost town in the U. S.
Hell, Michigan, a community in the U. S.
Hell, Grand Cayman, the Cayman Islands
Hell, Norway, a village in Stjørdal
Hell Creek, near Jordan, Montana, U. S.
and don't leave out the demonic "hellman" mayonaise, j. k.
to tom, when i reread your answer i saw a deeper meaning. same as people NOW name city hell, same in THAT place they used the name for hell for THAT place... referencing hell not defining that is the only gehenna. that is probably what you meant. i thought you were doing word play.
It was also a dumping ground for executed criminals.

i just did a search, hebrew bible does not have "gehenna" any such name or its 5 variants, for a place.
but jesus did talk about "evil like burnt in a fire," so we need to interpret that somehow.
also the word that got translated "hell", was not gehenna anyway. oops.
You couldnt find one most likely because you are translating it from English. Phonetic, alphabets and pronunciation differs from language to language.
Try finding similar sounding words in hebrew bible, I am sure you will find it.
Muslims refer hell as cehennem (gehenna, basically same word)
and Arabic and hebrew are related languages
@AnusDestroyer3169 to anu, i searched the five variables too. if you have faith it is there why don't you find it?
also the claim in original question, is easy to search find the word hell and see its hebrew. i found the word that was translated as hell it is not gehena in hebrew.
Ooh, baby, do you know what that's worth? 🎶
Gehenna looks like a lovely place to live!

Yeah, there was a Turkish ex muslim , islam critic author called Turan dursun. I have seen it before in his books.
Should have stayed in school, kiddo. Learn the meaning of words.
Yes, I believe it's a guest house in North Korea.
Bell is in a different realm
With all due respect I disagree
