I don't recall being a "sinner" as a child. I do recall being corrupted and becomming one.
you can define sin how you want based upon what you know.
I won't criticize your opinion...

well I'm not a Christian so I maybe I should answer this but I do believe in my God and I do believe that I'm sinner and I will probably always be a sinner
just for the fact of everything that I believe in.
I also believe that when we were born we are all giving a gift of choice and we get to choose who we want to be in life by the things we say and do.
we don't really learn that until later on in Life or at least I didn't.
because who you become from one to 18 your influence by your parents and your friends but once again it's a choice on who you want to be
I don't think I was born a saint nor do I believe that I was born a sinner
I believe we all have a destiny and our destiny is to become the best we can possibly become we all have a god Gene inside of us and we should do what he would do
at the same time with those choices I want to experience things to understand things even though I know that they're wrong I want to experience and I want to understand why I am sorry.
or I can apologize for a lot of things that I have wanted to experience and then but I'm not sorry because I needed that because that's who has made me grow into the person that I am I don't know what anybody else believes what happens after we die but I believe that we are pure energy and energy does not die it keeps going and going
and if that's the case the next dimension that I go into I want to have all the knowledge that I possibly can while being the best that I possibly can it doesn't mean that I'm going to be the same person that I am on this Earth in that dimension.. no matter what I do if it's a sin or wrong or right I learn from it and I do no wrong from right and I know how to treat people.. and just like failure in success failure is success because you have to fail before you can succeed
I guess we're all supposed to know that we're not supposed to sinn
to become the best we are supposed to be but for me I can't see it that way I don't want to see it that way maybe is what it is
Good answer, makes a lot of sense.
You might enjoy some mind play combining Christianity and Quantum Mechanics.
I believe this is the video where the physicist says "if you have enough power, you can create your own universe" + "quantum entanglement". Combine that thought with Jesus... offering to take anyone that beliefs in him (e. g. entangled?) to a new universe he creates. His God is love, if that's what people want, best offer going.
I agree with your point about being your best... gets to my next question I will post "what is the purpose of life... to you"?
Thanks for sharing.

@sean1234
yet you are 100% right and I will raise my hand and I am the biggest sinner .
I've never read the Bible but for some reason I know a lot of things that are in there.. I do know if our bodies are Temple then our Creator God is within us all of us we all hold a piece of him and we are supposed to do him right I live in the way he wants us to but he also gave me choice and I need to take it further I need to understand everything that I possibly can I need to experience it to understand it to become it. and in 98% of the things that I do I'm sure it's a sin. I believe that we are all supposed to have a destiny and I think that is almost identical for all of us to become the best that we possibly can be to help anybody that needs help this life's not about me it's about others but I need to understand others before I can help them in so many different ways. the crazy and the sad part is is I probably won't repent because I know what I'm doing is wrong but I need to become the best I can become and in order to get there there's a lot of things that I have to do to understand things but I am all right do consider myself one of God's soldiers there are preachers that have asked me to join to become a preacher to become a priest and I tell them I am I'm a gutter priest I try to help people that nobody else will for whatever reasons but I believe our destiny for all of us is to become the best we possibly can to go to the place the best place that is designed for us after we pass and to become the best you have to have knowledge understanding love so it is what it is and either I make it or I don't but I don't think I would change anything I walked a pretty rough road and that's made me who I am today and I love myself today and tomorrow and the next day probably not on judgment day though LOL
That's good and all but incomplete of course, without the complete word of God, you don't have all his laws in your head among other things, only some.
If you are into watching videos there are 2 series by Walter Veith the 1st is Genesis Conflict and the one to watch after that is Total Onslaught he will fill in any gaps about the word of God that you need to hear...

Born without sin, yes, but after birth you are either born OR learn The word of God OR LEARN sin.
1 John 3:9-12
Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother. For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another. Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother’s righteous.

Oh and those to be born is to not learn, "in the bible"...
Acts 2:8
And how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born?
You are not born with the language you 1st spoke, you learned. 😎
Excellent! That makes sense to me and the Bible passage is of course... right on. What I'm working to live by, loving my brother. That gets into more definition of "brother"... won't go there, Jesus answered that.
Jesus is filtering people out... for a new kingdom.
That... is both happy and sad... so many fragile beings can be drawn into sin, lost. Do spread the good news, and save those souls for eternity!
I didn't believe that Christians believes human born sinful... or sinful child. How that makes sense? I genuinely asking.
not something I really get as Christian. I accept there's different views.
I think of it more as we are born into a world which will easily corrupt such fragile beings. we don't have the strength on our own to resist it. in essence, the original sin is out there rolling around and quickly impacts. something like that...
I am Muslim, we believe that all children are born sinless. God " Allah in Islamic faith " forgiven Adam and eve source : Quran. But we are responsible for our sin as soon as we hit the maturity. Avoiding to worship one God "Allah" , no killing a soul, prayers, avoiding sexual activity before marriage, no to fornication, to alcohol or drugs, taking care of your parents, charity for poor people or a needy neighbor family. Etc... I learned something today ^^
I didn't know that about Muslim belief, learned something new. Those are good beliefs for creating community, protecting the self and others. Thanks for sharing!
to faf, it is a debate. catholic interpret bbible that every child is born with the stain of sin as if inherited. so everybody is guilty and needs jesus. protestant interpret differently so it will not conflict other verses " a child will not die for the sins of the father".

Basic epistemology- hell, basic philosophical logic- says that sin requires moral agency; that's why there's grounds for claiming innocence in cases of mental illness or demonic possession. By definition, then, you CAN'T be born a sinner. "Original sin" is a bullshit marketing gimmick, and always has been.
a very succinct answer, a bit beyond my development to process without some work. I'll keep in mind though as I explore, but hard to explore by writing. Here's my basic thinking for what it's worth.
I think... the underlying question is... is there a reference point? With no reference point, no sin. That how you see it?
Original Sin - how I undersatnd it now... it was a seed that gets spread around. We know we have "pre programming"... from generations past. Call it genetics or behavioral or what, but we have basic function at baby level. In world filled with sin (we know that's true), very easy to corrupt pre programmed human... all get sucked into "sin". "sin" being... I think... selfishness and malice intent?
Thus "bad stuff"... keeps rolling around. Thus, the value of Christ providing an "eject", even he said this world is "toast"... not fixable. "Believe in me... have eternal life, will take you to my kingdom"... e. g. where love is in charge. Certainly a fantastic message for those suffering at the lower levels... but sometimes people at other levels relate as well.
Hopefully that kingdom is better...
I may not be at your level, never had some of those courses.
It's fun to think isn't it? That we'd coagulate a bunch of neurons to be able to process all this in space and time, it's mind blowing... the subject contemplating the whole of what's beyond itself, which it is made from.
But sin isn't genetic; it is, by definition, an individual act. You can't hold humanity responsible for what God did to it.
Neither.
I was born as an empty piece of human.
And my parents and grand parents helped some person to grow inside of that.
Which now turned out to be... me.
On an abstract side, I'd interpret the sinner detail as:
born without knowing about morals, and thus potentially doing the wrong things.
are you sure about "empty"? You come pre-programmed with all sorts of "default programming" that gets activated. easily programmable, yes
I should have said it more precisely: I mean ''empty'' with no personality, advanced consciousness, own thoughts, ''culture'' and such.
No 'Windows' or programs installed, yet - just BIOS... so to say.
(... and with Apple babies it must be similar)
So to me they are ''under construction'' - but I will not expect full functionality.
Everybody was born in sin, thanks to Adam and Eve.. The only person who wasn't was Jesus.. Hell even as little innocent children we lie, and hide the truth not to get in trouble, make a fuss when we don't get what we want etc.. Those are natural..
adam and eve? why would anyone except them be guilty for what they did? if i park in the handicap spot is my children guilty? they pay the fine punishment?
kids lie because they know what the parent wants to hear they learnt to lie and saw the parents lie "tell them i am not home, tell them i will call them back in an hour" parent did you break that? kid my invisible guest broke it.
both! born pure before did a sin. saint before did sin. also born a "sinner" doomed to inevitably mess up something, intentionaly or by mistake.
people learn to sin for example not believing is a sin. so they need jesus even if they did not do other sins just to clean the sin of not believing. as described in gospel john chapter 3.16 to end of 18.
Sin is inherent. It's through our blood from Adam that we have Sin and it's the Blood Sacrifice of Christ on the Cross and His Resurrection that pays the penalty for that Sin on our behalf.
Paul's letters, especially Romans, explains it way better than I can
but the baby did not do any sin yet.
If you are born with no deeds under your belt and not having made any decisions in life, not having fallen into any temptations, how can you not be as clean as an angel? The whole thought of a child born sinful is nonsense and ridiculous man made horseshit. Unless of course these babies take some pleasure out of performing cunnilingus on their mom's clitoris while coming out to this world.
i agree
Technically we aren’t be a saint or corrupted. Though we are all born in sin that doesn’t make anyone evil by any means for being born it just means we require god to be cleansed of our sins.
Im as pure as the driven snow
haha!
A sinner why because I got slapped when I first was born
i am pretty sure you did not deserve the slap!
We are all born with the sin nature that is passed down through the man because of Adam’s sin.
that interpretatioin seems better
Children are born with original sin.
but if so mary inherited too. and if mary not inherit then neither did anybody.
@strateguy632 ooh... I've not heard a good answer for that one. touche'! Mary would have had original sin.
Saints are made, not born.
first nobody is a "saint" above others because everyone is called saints so no such separation from others. secondly before sin everyone was as pure as a saint.
i mean before doing a sin
Clean slate with Free Will.
