Is this a coincidence or does reincarnation exist?

Ever since I was little my parents said I had some unique fascination (different personality than the rest of the toddlers and children) for nearly every living creature, from the wildlife to spiders, centipedes, etc.

One day (age 4), I told them an animal killed me before, it was my fault but I'm back and will continue where I was at. I was a man in my past life, a man that loved wildlife.

Year later (I'm now 17) and I don't remember that part about being a man but my personality towards animals remains the same. I do plan on working with the wildlife and critters in the near future. This gets my parents worried and they always tell me to be careful. Reincarnation? Or is that a pure coincidence?

Like that man whom my parents claimed I told them I was, he would never get angry if an animal defended itself nor blame the animal. It's like he reincarnated in me.

What matters is what you believe and how it enriches your own life (and hopefully makes you either a better or happier person).

I personally feel reincarnation is self evident, since when we die we return to the earth (and what made us up during life, becomes something new, and part of the cycle of all existance). So it's not too far fetched to presume some or all of us get integrated into other creatures, plants etc. Since it definitely happens at a minimum at the chemical level.

That said, what that means regarding our ability to think and believe is anyones guess (and may not be anything). It is best to be slightly sceptical because the more we stray into 'might be's' vs 'is' leaves us open to potential manipulation by the unscrupulus.

My personal opinion is, there are a ton of ways to explain what happened here socially and psycologically. Children tend to repeat ideas their parents share with them, and they reflect aspects of their parents systems of belief. They can also reflect 'pleasant understandings', which means that the way children see things is simple and positive. Which is of course why Children are so thrilled by Santa and other concepts generally. So the probability is you where just reflecting a story you told yourself age 4, and it became real for you because at that age children will into reality what the believe (e. g. their imagination is so critical it is real for them).

So, science suggests its a pyscological effect, and religion suggests its evidence of some belief having merit.

At the end of they day, pick the explaination which makes you happiest and brings meaning to your life (and look for the meaning within what you beleive and how it benefits you and others).

Yes but not many love spiders nor centipedes for instance nor respect them. Several people like some animals but dislike some.

If the guy reincarnated within me then everything happens for a reason. He likely wants to continue his legacy, through me. How did he know I would be the right person though? He was smart in selecting me.

The simple explanation is that you do not remember all of your life prior 4 to know what you did and did not hear. The adults encouraging the nonsense are idiots. You also do not know what you subconsciously absorb. You could be in a cafe and hear a random fact from across the room, then repeat it years later, not knowing where it comes from. If you understand even basic psychology, you wouldn't be as ignorant.
