I don't think that simply because the democratic platform is overtly against everything that any religion stands for (and openly hates Christianity) means that the Republicans deserve a free vote just because. People need to pay a lot more attention to their local elections and primaries to make sure that the scumbag actors pretending to play a character aren't allowed to elevate themselves to higher offices, which is a rampant problem in the GOP. People like Lindsay Graham, John Cornyn, Adam Kitzinger, and Liz Cheney should never be allowed by voters to run for office with an (R) by their name, but there are simply too many people who can't be bothered, and now the GOP is stuck with a lot of crap senators and representatives who most likely will never leave office until they either retire, or screw something up so bad that their district flips.

"Religious" is a much bigger category, but when it comes to Christians, specifically, it's pretty much the other way around.

-Concerned about the breakdown of the nuclear family? I certainly am. And the Democrats seem to be less attached to it- but they're also the ones trying to expand it, by letting the gays in.

-Concerned about abortion? Me, too. And the Democrats are unambiguously the ones pushing for it; here, and here alone, do the conservatives have a point in calling them opposed to Christianity.

-Concerned about feeding the hungry, clothing the naked, and supporting the poor in general- you know, the stuff that Jesus actually told us to do? The Democrats have a whole lot of incoherent bellowing and grotesque, well-intentioned incompetence to offer, but that far beats out the Republicans' silence.

Christians shouldn't get involved in politics if they truly understand their own religion. Christ was against the rich and powerful, and supported the poor, so where is the politician who is genuinely interested in the plight of those who can't even afford a roof over their heads?

I disagree with most politicians on a very large number of issues. On both sides of the supposed divide between right and left.

The left seems to support the sterilisation of children and abortion while the right appears to support making rape and abuse survivors carry a baby to term irrespective of the damage to the physical and mental health of the mother.

God/Jesus commanded INDIVIDUALS to do these things.
He didn't command the STATE to do it.
When you get to heaven and God asks you why you didn't help those suffering around you your answer cannot be "I voted for the government to tax more and to make some corrupt program that the politicians pilfer from".
He'll want to know why YOU... YOU didn't give of your own treasure to the needy.

Voting for corrupt government programs isn't following God's commands. You are in error if you believe world governments are supposed to spread the gospel, feed the hungry, visit the sick, love one another... that is for individual people to do.

Poverty rates? What is a poverty rate? A government made up number. If you make X then you are in "poverty"? Ok. That means nothing. God doesn't promise earthly wealth. There are already government assistance programs. You haven't really brought up anything of note.
Refugees? There is nothing biblically declaring nations have to take in people from other countries. Our country borders Canada and Mexico. There are no "refugees", just people that want to move here. The U. S. has the right to say we can accept X number of people and to tell others no.

Since the democrats have let in about 7 million people and the USA has refused to enforce a border I assume you are calling that biblical?
