I don't mind them. They're just head scarves. Some are really cute.
Head scarves were traditional in most western cultures and are still worn on occasion.

I don't think they protect against anything. They are just a cultural/religious tradition. But I don't find them at all offensive.

I am offended by burqas that cover the entire body and face and have screens in front of the eyes. I think they make women look suspicious and dangerous. I don't even think they were traditional attire in many places before the Islamic revolution in the 1980s.
Muslim women had beautiful regional clothing.

Hijab has many meanings, it can mean "to cover" or it can mean "scarf" among many other interpretations. It also isn't just something worn by Muslim women
