i'm gonna say no, because there's really nothing wrong with researching things. but he also knows the danger, and that's why we're warned to stay away from it. It's easy to research, and then bit by bit start experimenting until you find things that actually work and then you've slipped into the darkness. sorry to be so dramatic. lol

GOD acts on intentions. If your interest is pure, such as the desire to understand it so that you can have discussions with those who practice it and explain why you think it's unhealthy then GOD would approve. If you are secretly wanting to practice it HE would not.
GOD knows/judges your heart for why you do what you do.
God is more powerful than witchcraft. The reason people choose witchcraft is that God makes you earn his blessings while witchcraft does not make you struggle and work for it. But witchcraft is more dangerous than alcohol, it destroys your mind, your relationships, and your career.
God knows your heart and your intentions at the end of the day so if you are just curious it's okay to search things up and to be able to tell what is good and what is bad. It's bad if you practice it of course, since you'd be opening up to evil spirts. Again God knows your heart.
