As far back as we find evidence of society, we find evidence of religion. At the farthest back we can see, religion mainly centered around goddesses, the world being created and protected by women. This mainly had to do with the fact that women gave birth and were the reason people were born at all. It wasn’t until people started to realize that women who never had sex with men never gave life that men realized their essential role in it and that’s where we saw the first male gods appear. And then it just kinda spiraled out of control from there lol
