Not particularly, I don't fear a make-believe all-powerful magic daddy in the sky. Might as well be afraid of Santa Claus, too.
Not in the least. Why would I be afraid of something that doesn't exist?

I hesitated to answer this, because I don't believe in proselytizing. Please take this as a clarification of my personal views.
In the sense that I respect His commands, yes. If I met Him face-to-face right now, I assume I would be terrified because that would obviously be terrifying for anyone to encounter an all-powerful Being that was perfect and without equal. Also an alien. :D
The scriptures say that the fear of God is the beginning of wisdom, but it's only the beginning, because later it says that perfect love casts out fear, and that there is no fear in love. It also says that if we love Him, we will keep His commandments. Our journey to God begins with understanding our inability to stand before Him (or anyone, really) in perfection. That produces fear, and thus begins our journey to seeking God, and moving from great fear to great love.
His commands are simple: Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul and mind and Love your neighbor as yourself.
I personally think that there is more room in heaven for one honest sinner than for a hundred self-satisfied tithers, but that's just me... :) If we're turned off by hypocrisy and we're said to be made in the image of God, how much more will He be disgusted by those who prayed to Him as an "insurance policy" for the afterlife? The scriptures say there will be those who will stand and argue with God about how much they did for Him. His response? "I never knew you". We are also told of two sons; one who said he would do his father's will, and the other who actually did it.
The scribes and Pharisees of Jesus' day knew the scriptures inside and out and had them strapped to their foreheads (literally). And yet, they had completely misinterpreted the meaning and the heart of the scriptures. How much more today has the evangelical church done the same?
There you go. Burn me for a witch and a heretic! :)
You're always sur eof being politically correct in all of your opinions 😂 Appreciate the opinion as always

I've never read the Bible and something inside of me has told me not to read it so I have to go with that.
And I am a god-fearing man vibes didn't get I go with them.
And also my life I've done this and everything is worked out pretty good and everything that my vibes or I call it that inner person or energy has led me to believe it's been true so far our has opened my mind
Everything on this planet is energy and if God made everything God is energy and that he is the universe I do know a lot of things that are in the Bible from what I understand and one of them is become one with self one with others and one with the universe
To me that tells me to love yourself as a god because that's also what he says become a creator love others help others succeed and become one with the universe that is God we all should become one with the fabric of the universe because that should be all our destinations stay out of drama stay out of the negativity stay out of judgment stay out of ignorance because those are the things that hold you back and take away from the places that you should be going become the best you can become and help others become that same person
Omnipotent being like God doesn't need your fear, charlatans who want to control you with their exclusive connection to god need your fear.
Well said
I think that tends to be an expression used in the Midwest part of the US. It isn’t a common expression in other areas. I think it generally means that the person is very religious.
I use to be, my religious views today are complicated
Sometimes a man has to rise above certain things and do the right thing for him.
Yes. I believe to Allah. İn our religion Jesus is not God. Jesus is prophet. I afraid of Allah
Never understood the sentiment behind God "fearing". Like... he's the man! Ain't nothing to be afraid of.
I can bet 90% of people here do not even know the meaning of God fearing.
No more than I consider myself wraith fearing. I don’t fear fictional beings.
I don't believe in God I love and worship Master Satan as the True God.
I’m not entirely sure what that means tbh
Yesss , I believe in God
I am cognizant of His commands.
Yes. But sometimes I shoot my mouth off.
Sorry my message was late, but hope you had a great Christmas man! Merry Christmas!
