That specified in book 8 section 8 that "indra is the arch-deva" foremost of gods, how is it possible that millions of hindu don't NOTICE that they are worshipping... not only the wrong god considered wrong by outsiders, but considered the wrong god by their OWN Mahabharta

WHEN SEEING INDRA IS FOREMOST of gods how can they continue worshipping vishnu or siva? and how insist vishnu is more WORTHY of worship than shiva and indra?

same problem for the fewer who worship shiva? Among millions nobody noticed? Nobody points it out to those who didn't notice?

Sure they know not to worship creator named brahma who earned punishment, nor indra who got defeated (by rama?) But still, even AFTER DEFEAT, indra is STILL the foremost of gods, not vishnu and shiva so how among so many people nobody obeys their own book? nobody even noticed?

You must be a Muslim to criticise about Hinduism. Why not try to defend the issue on your religion first about the character of prophet Muhammad?

Not even if you are not a muslim then why not together criticize all the religions together? Why only Hinduism?

Now let's come to your point. Do you understand all the concept all the details of Hinduism? Have you read it's all the details? It is so vast and so diverse, what made you to believe Hinduism is only based on worshipping of god and goddess only? It's such a broad concept. Worshipping god or goddess is just one of it's way. There is also another sect of hinduism in which they don't worship any form of God. There are sect in hindusm what worship only nature. How can you think such broad concept of Hinduism is limited to that much only?

That's the problem that you are trying to understand Hinduism that way just by reading a book. Hinduism isn't that way. It's a broad concept. And broad idea. It's not based on some books but Hinduism is beyond any book. Here we are not told that "this is the truth or this is right path" but we are encouraged to find our own path we are encouraged to find our own truth we are free to deny any idea any belief we find it wrong.

It's not the religion of book like Christianity or Islam.

It's so strange that you find problem on hindu god and goddess what no one claim as real but they are considered as beyond the world's reality but you have no problem on people following the person like Muhammad who born here on earth and whose life history is known and all know what he did. To follow a religion who has such evil demonic founder or one who is simply an idea and there is no history who is beyond this world and even given so much freedom to follow anything still you are considered part of it?

Ooh this is a good question. I could write a lot about this. You've just unlocked thousands of years worth of evolution, deity power struggle and a lot more lol.

The biggest flaw in what you're saying is in relying on one book or even set of scriptures when there are way more. Seriously, so much more. Hinduism is a very traditional religion and has been around way before pretty much any other major religion in the world.

But in essence, considering you catch on well, I'll just say that yes people have noticed but the interpretation is vastly different depending on the school of thought.
Basically the difference between relative and absolute divinity so to speak.
If you compare corpus from the "early days" to later times, you'll see this quite clearly.

@strateguy632 Nothing related? I don't see how that's right... Granted at best all I did was touch on some of the abstraction. Because that's the length you went to in your OP.
I'm not sure how you think there aren't any interpretations about Indra when there are entire schools of thought, different scriptures within the Mahabharata itself that don't see eye to eye about simpler principles and concepts. I really wouldn't put it past them. And you seem to consider the Mahabarata as something comparable to the Bible or the Quran when it really isn't. It's part of a library if you will of texts that expand on multiple levels and realms of mythology/meta thinking.

Hinduism is pluralistic. Many deities can be revered in conjunction and opposing one another without complete Contradiction. Why? Because Bhashyas, bhakti sanskar and purantic ways in literature are vast and varied. And this is further complicated unless you can read Sanskrit and Hindi like I can. That is the point I'm making. Even if we were to take something in one context alone, there are hierarchies upon hierarchies of power that don't correlate or equate across the board like moksha abilities vs devas and other transcendal beings and how they're portrayed.

About "vedic deity" visnu is a vedic deity... in rig veda book 1 section 22,20 so among those indra is foremost over vishnu. Ta da... two books... to @WhitneySnow
