If you could participate in the next Conclave and cast a vote to choose the next Pope what kind of Pope would you vote for?

List some of the characteristics or views you'd like the next Pope to have and list some of the reforms you'd like him/her to do.

It might vary from one time and context to another. However, as it relates to us now today...

1) First and foremost, a man who will boldly proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ to the world. Plain and simple. A man who will call the world to repentance and conversion.

2) We really need a shaker-mover type. With all the scandals, corruption, heresy, and errors that have been plaguing the Church lately, I want a pope who will fashion whips and flip tables (see the Cleansing of the Temple). I want a pope who will remove such nefarious characters from their positions and will silence, shame, and punish them, but also wants to save their souls.

3) A traditionalist/"conservative". Unfortunately, there aren't many of such who would fit criteria #2 above. They might be orthodox and traditional, but will more likely deal with such problems more slowly and silently. That's at least the impression I get. I could be pleasantly surprised though.

4) No more capitulation and surrender to the world, or to other churches and religions. No more "accompaniment" or affirmation or anything like that. No more trying to blend in with the world. "This is the Catholic Church, this is the Catholic Faith, this is what we believe and teach. Take it or leave it. We're not going to change or soften our message just so you, who will never become Catholic and go to Mass anyway, can feel better about yourself." Like GK Chesterton said, "We don't need a church that moves with the world. We need a church that moves the world."

He doesn't necessarily need to go "full based", but at some point we've got to stop soft-balling everything too.

5) On that same note, a pope who will remind the world that Christian men of European descent are not responsible for all of the world's problems; lots of other tribes, nations, empires, and civilizations have also done some pretty nasty things and weren't exactly the sophisticated and peace-loving simpletons that some people today think they were. That and that men have their place and responsibilities, but so do women.

And lastly, it must be clarified that there never has been and never will be a "her" in the papacy. Women in the Catholic Church cannot even become priests, let alone bishops, cardinals, or popes.

There are many other things, but those are the top five I can think of for now.

A Pope who would actively work towards recognizing the role of women in the Catholic church. How come there are no women priests, bishops or even a female Pope?

A Pope who would actively work towards banning child abuse. Anyone (priest, bishop, cardenal...) who commits abuse should be banned from exercizing his role immediately.

A Pope who would donate half of the wealth accumulated in the Vatican to the poor who struggle on a daily basis.

I don’t have many opinions on such a thing but I definitely don’t want a pope that’s modernized and willing to corrupt the church just to fit in with the new world order.
