How many people here, have ever had their house blessed by a priest or clergyman before purchasing your house?

If so, is it a custom of your family to do this? What religious denomination do you belong to, if you don't mind sharing? There are some religions that follow this tradition.

In a similar but more morbid situation, a principal I once had at a school had a priest come in to bless the school and grounds of the school, because the previous year a teacher had been picked up by her estranged husband at the school, driven to a remote wooded area and murdered her. True story. We knew the teacher, and it was on the news in our state many years ago.

My neighbor had suggested it once. We've never been overly religious. And our religion even in basic form was created by King Henry only so that he could divorce his wife for failing to give him a surviving male heir, and ended up beheading the woman he left her and created that mess for. Not sure how well that blessing would hold. Not sure how well my own baptism is holding come to think about it.

I grew up in a Catholic family and our family home has been blessed each year by priest around Christmas time. It’s a tradition over here, lol.

We're planning to (we are REALLY far behind on it 😬).

We're traditionalist Catholics. I don't totally remember what happened last time. The priest just said a few prayers in Latin and sprinkled holy water in each room. We were in a duplex last time, so I don't know if he'll do it outside as well.
