Jesus said you should celebrate if people hate you for your religion, because it means God will give you big rewards for being hated. Thoughts?

I think he said only those with training and experience can celebrate when they are being harassed or maligned for their faith, since those who have training in religion, have the life experience and defence systems to buffer out the negativity and not let it seep into their emotions or spirit or drain into their moods and ambitions in life.

As so often is the case Jesus is wrong once again. The problem with people hating you is they usually also want to hurt you, as Jesus learned the hard way. The on-going problems in the middle east today are largely due to religious hatred.

The solution is to show your religion is not a threat to your haters. Basking in the hatred as if it's proof of your righteousness is never going to end well.
