God comes from the belief that the universe is built off potential, that is the gradient between everything less and nothingness. That consciousness exists in all things and amalgomates into one being we call God but do not understand. So we use stories and anologies to explore the implications of this truth humanity seemingly has intuitively understood since the days of alchemy.

Many have adulterated and used these teachings to control masses of people who do not understand these teachings as they require mental capacities most humans don't naturally have to understand.

I would tell you that the concept of a "God" was initially a fabrication of early hominids created to explain natural phenomena they did not have the scientific knowledge to comprehend.

This primitive concept of an all powerful being was then co-opted by those in power, and expanded upon, as a way to control the masses through fear, and enrich themselves in the process.

It was so successful that even otherwise enlightened populations continued to worship this fictional being, and created an exclusionary mindset wherein anyone who doesn't share those same beliefs ultimately came to be viewed as an enemy.

Faith cannot be explained or rationalized. It’s not unlike love in that way. It must be felt to be known. This is why good Christians “testify” and often describe their faith in terms of their love for God and his love for them. They don’t shame or belittle nonbelievers. They share their experience with how a personal relationship with their lord and savior changed their lives for the better. They invite them to church to meet others on the same scale of experience. Then they show them their paths to illumination. Some find it right away. Some never do, and that is absolutely tragic.

God is a man-made construct. There's no such thing. In fact, back when we were simple-minded a few millennia ago, we saw people like YOU from other planets that came here and visited us and, for that matter, even created us, and decided that YOU were god!! Then we made up all these bullshit stories about you and your sublime being and power and have repeatedly transformed it over the millennia to fit our present needs and ideas of what god really is.
I didn't create you so, don't base your new world on me or start a religion about me! Besides, religion only CAUSES war and hatred because no one can make ends met on what god really is. And I wouldn't want to be the cause of more death and hatred.
