I was raised Buddhist for 1-2 years before my parents abandoned Buddhism and I became a Christian around 6 years later.

My parents know this Southern Baptist couple from way back and I saw a picture of their family and you could see the kids from age 10-ish to 25, they were in lockstep with the whole thing like you see on those reality shows, and I was thinking if they were born into the family next door they would be completely different people.

I was brought up as a Christian and I question everything. I reject the mumbo-jumbo but I still believe in the core virtues of honesty, love and forgiveness.

My childhood religion was ambiguous. I was in one of the most liberal denominations. Sunday school and the liturgy made no sense.

I consider myself a Christian but I really was not raised in the church. My parents were not religious.
