The bible says when the years are many, you will boost the price, and when the years are few, you will lower the price, because you are not meant to take advantage of each other, but you must respect God, and his teachings and values.
What I get out of that equality rule, is that, God might force you to sacrifice more for your reward, when your reward is relatively larger, or when it is better, or when it lasts longer, or when it is easier to keep.
And if God's pay out is smaller or temporary or weaker or only of minor significance, God might demand a lower price before God gives you your due compensation and God might give you your reward immediately, instead of delaying your payout, or testing you before your pay out, or increasing your sacrifice before your pay out, or demanding you upgrade your lifestyle before you receive the pay out.
So God might force you to give more or endure more or obey more, if the reward for your efforts are bigger, and God might demand less from you if the reward is smaller.
