Do you think sometimes God delays things so we will understand its value when we finally get it?

I did 2 years of university, and then left due to not having purpose, direction, or vision. When I returned years later, I knew what I wanted and how amazing the university experience was, and got straight A’s at graduation as opposed to the D’s I got as a clueless 19 year old with no maturity, confidence, or dreams.

I think the reason God might give or not give you some thing could be the same: God wants to reward your appreciation or God wants to build your appreciation for something, at a time, where you do not yet appreciate the value of something God has given you or plans to give you after you mature.
