Wiccans getting offended by people dressed up as Witches for Halloween because its offensive or cultural. Thoughts?

People dressing up as Witches predates Wiccas and is part of my culture of Halloween

Well. Wiccan don't own the patent on being a witch

And witch is just a word like any other word anybody that has a thought and those have to use them with the right frequency can be a witch that's just the title for people that want to have a titles but you can be a normal human being and have a thought and with the right wording you can make it happen it doesn't mean you're are a witch not unless that makes you feel good or people feel good I should say who would like and who are into all that and then you have aspect of good witch versus bad witch

And if you use your words to be a bad witch that's just like some guy cussing out some person it's the same thing except for when people have titles they feel more special and more powerful but there's only one power that erases all power

And is somebody believes in black magic or witches that's on them whatever spell or whatever it is that they use nowadays and they think that then that's what will happen but that's just like a bully picking on somebody and the boys telling them they're going to kick their ass well the person that is being picked on feels that same thing it's just words words are all spells good morning you're telling somebody good death it goes on and on

And personally I wouldn't be offended Did somebody's dressing up as a witch I would be more offended if somebody had a faster broom than me

It's understandable, you're mocking their religion. They view it as a quiet time spent in remembrance of lost loved ones so people in silly costumes portraying them as evil is offensive. It's no different to a Hindu dressing up as Jesus at Christmas

Its odd to me. I was a wiccan for many years (nowadays just call myself eclectic pagan) its never bothered me for people dressing up as Witches. People are so damn soft.

Halloween witches and Wiccan beliefs aren’t necessarily the same thing. People should be able to enjoy dressing up for Halloween while still respecting others’ beliefs and traditions. 🎃
