28F, I haven’t dated someone in years & haven’t met someone from a dating app in over a yr. I’m at the point where I just don’t feel the desire to be active on them & use them kind of sporadically throughout the week. I’m really worried that years down the line I will regret being as isolated as I’ve been, considering I don’t have a social life. I don’t want kids & when it comes to friendships, I don’t put myself out there either. I just don’t have the energy to deal with people, most friends I’ve had throughout the years I’ve cut off. Im not one to settle with people’s bs for the sake of not being alone, I’m quick to cut people off when they do things that bother me after an extended amount of time. With dating, I haven’t had sex or masturbated in years. I find men attractive but sometimes I wonder if men like me. I’m told I’m cute/attractive & getting matches on the apps have never been the issue. It usually just doesn’t work out & it can go both ways, I never get approached by guys that’s always been my reality. People are a lot of work & relationships are too much work at times, I’m kind of apathetic but my anxiety takes over at times. Maybe the right person will change everything.

I have always had a tendency to be hasty & remove people from my life on social media & overall when there’s an issue. I am very selective when it comes to people so I don’t think that I’m a bad judge of character or settle with friendships/relationships for the sake of having company. Maybe it isn’t hasty bc I think it through for a while before I do it, I don’t want to label it either as this is apparently a trait of Borderline Personality Disorder. Maybe there’s nothing wrong with me & I just don’t like people?

Anyway, I had gamer friends through an online game & we’ve been talking for a little over 2 years. It was more frequent around peak COVID & as of recently we haven’t been in contact as often. There’s one I like more than the other (as a person not romantically) & he’s better at gaming but he has a tendency to make conceited remarks that have rubbed me the wrong way for a while. It’s been a while since he made one but it’s been gnawing at me. The other one is ditzy, he annoys me & while he also has said things that irritated me, I was quicker to delete the other one. I just deleted the ditzy one today bc it didn’t make sense to keep one & not the other, as the better one who I was closer to was online more often. The better one wished me a merry Christmas & I left his message on seen. I don’t think he realizes that he’s been deleted, it’s been a few weeks. The ditzy guy might catch on quicker, they’re both still online friends but rarely talk.

I’m 28F and have no friends, I’m content I think but worry I will regret being so isolated years down the line. I hold grudges & as bitter as I sound, I really do feel like people can be infuriating & you’re better off alone in some instances. I have low patience & tolerance when people cross that line. I had a friend back in HS that seemed like a decent-ish person but was irritated when she came across as self absorbed. I stopped talking to her, she picked up on that & she tried adding me on social media last yr but I denied it. I had a gamer friend but he also was a bit conceited so I removed him from our gaming platform & social media (I don’t think he knows it yet). I’d rather just be alone then deal with people that have a tendency to irritate me, it may come across as if I have low standards when it comes to relationships but that isn’t the case. I feel deep down I’m a loner & try not to settle for that bs. Am I just surrounded by crappy people or am I hasty & quick to cut people off? I don’t date either, I’m probably even worse when it comes to that
