It's estimated that by 2030, 45% of women of child bearing age will be single and childless. As feminism move ahead, men condemn and male concerns brushed off as "whiny" or " misogyny", we will see further drops in marriage rates and long term relationships. And as the population ages, the people who are 30s and 40s now in 20 years will find themselves with no kids, family or in some cases doing it alone as single parent. So the question here becomes, who will cope better without a family and being alone?

So, this is a weird question that is in my head since quite a while now. I will be 23 on 29th of this month, and I never had a girlfriend, never had a female friend, and almost never even talked to a girl. I am not an incel, but this is because I grew up in a very conservative family, and so all these restrictions were cast on me.

So, recently I rented a small place and started living on my own. And because of this, I am now free to do whatever. However, I wanted to figure out my career for now. I suspect that I will be good to go in one year. After that, I will finally try to get a girlfriend. However, this is where my question starts.

If I start my love story at the age of 24, is it too late? What I mean is that our desire changes with time, for example, when I was a child, I liked toys, now I like anime, etc. Is this the same for love and sexual desire? When I reach the age of 30, for example, will I still care about love as much as a teenager do? Also about sex, for example, from my experience so far, I know for sure that a 18-23 year old guy love sex, does a 35 year old like sex as much as a 20 year old do? What about a 40 year old man? Does these desires go down with time? If yes, how much and when?

Thanks for reading all this. The reason I asked this is because I am really confused as to whether I should just get married to my a far relative of ours, which my parents and her parents are forcing to. (arrange marriage). Or should I try to find a girlfriend and do what I should have done when I was still a teenager? I would preferably want answers from guys, because I want to know their experience, but if a girl has a thoughtful answer, I would appreciate that too. 💕

Before you all get defensive I admit this is a generalization. Not every woman is more selfish than her male counterpart.

However in general I really do believe women are instinctually more selfish than men especially when it comes to relationships. However there are evolutionary factors at play and let me explain.

There was a time in history that in most cultures women had far fewer options than men when it came to employment, political office, business and land ownership, etc in most cultures. They also had some special privileges (not being forced to fight in wars). However they were for the most part completely dependent on men to protect and provide for them and the children. Also before birth control a woman had to be careful who she had sex with. She could get stuck with the baby.

But women always did have one key advantage over men and that was their feminine wiles and sexuality. They could manipulate men through relationships and marriage to get their needs met. Especially if they were attractive.

Women also developed a more callous attitude towards men who they did perceive could benefit them. At best they would ignore these men but they also had to act defensive and suspicious given that these men could harm/rape them. Although chivalry prevented most men from doing something like that there were always unfortunately bad men out there. Women had to be selfish to survive.

Fast forward to modern day. Nowadays western women definitely don’t need men to survive in modern society. In fact if are a woman you will likely have an advantage over a man if all else is equal. Corporations, political offices, etc look to promote women in the name of “gender equality”.

However I do not believe women have generally evolved out of their “self preservation” selfishness. They reject with less shame. They act much more entitled to accept hand outs. They don’t fight fair.

I believe many modern women just can’t admit this hypocrisy due to hard set evolutionary factors.
