#1 Imagine you’re single/no kids. How would you feel if ONLY able to date/hookup with someone in the same age range? For example, this would not apply until you are at least the ages of 20+. So if you are 25, you could only be with anyone 20-29 years old. How would you feel? (And please don’t make this about freedom being taken away by some controlling government.)
#2 #TheTwist If you did not make the bold move of making things more official (by proposal or marriage) with your love interest before the oldest of you two aged up, then you MUST leave each other behind and move on. For example, you just turned 30. You can now only be with someone 30-39. (That is, unless you made things official before you aged up.) Think its a perk to move on OR would you feel you wasted time? (By the way, only one person can be your “official” at a time. No poly).
#3 In a way, this could workout in terms of divorce too. When the oldest partner ages up, if things were not working out, there is the right to divorce (free of charge with everyone maintaining their own assets). Otherwise, if you divorce while still in the same range, you still risk losing half your shit like in the current world. How would you feel about this way “out”? For example, once you turn 40, if your partner is still in their 30s, you can drop each other. But you would now only get to be with someone 40-49 now.

I mean you gotta be more courageous/communicative when making these big moves. But you’re also looking at an age limit and punishment if you break the rules. If things remained unofficial, you could always bounce OR “reunite” when they catch up to your age range. For example, if you were 29 but just turned 30 and your unofficial love interest was 25, you’re looking at 4-5 years before you can reunite. If you don’t seek commitment, this could also be the life.
