Is marrying for romance primarily just a part of western culture?

Growing up in the united states, I've always only heard of marriage as being the result of romance. However, I've discovered that immigrants from other cultures such as the carribean, africa, some parts of asia don't primarily get married for romance. By this, I don't mean that they're marrying a rich person for money. They marry so they can have a family / children, security, and financial stability. Two household incomes are better off than 1 income. They aren't as picky as westerners when it comes to selecting a spouse. Their mentality is that having being married and being able to take care of each other is better than dying alone with nobody to watch out for them. They also tend to prioritize having children.

In the US, people are proud to not have any children. Americans see dying alone as better than being married to someone for the sake of stability and security.

Is america's divorce rate of 50% , entirely attributed to this way of thinking?
