I have a flirty relationship with a guy at work. The flirting includes prolonged eye contact, staring, teasing and he does silly things to get my attention. I have also seen him looking at my body. On a night out, a mutual colleague said she thought he has a thing for me.

I was stressing about an upcoming event and I was having my hair and makeup done.

I was talking to him about it, and I said “I’m having my makeup and hair done for this event. I want to look beautiful”

He then said “why don’t you do it yourself then?” And we had some extended eye contact.

and then yesterday we were walking in the corridor and another person said “hello beautiful people”. I didn’t reply because I didn’t think she was talking to me, but my crush said “she said beautiful people, she’s talking to you”

Was he subtly telling me that he finds me beautiful?

He is 27 and I’m 30. We work together in a small team and have worked together for just over two years now. I believe we have a flirty relationship. He is nice to everyone and always jokes/has a laugh with everyone, so it would be difficult to know whether he was into me. Examples of his flirting include:

- We have a lot of eye contact. Sometimes I will catch him staring at me or the eye contact will be very prolonged. Haven’t noticed the pupil dilation at all.

- He does silly things just to get my attention. He will grab my hair clip, press something on my keyboard or touch my chair.

- On a night out, someone thought he was my husband for some reason, and he said “I should be so lucky”

- Outside of work he is very “huggy” but won’t touch me at work

- He laughs at silly things I do and calls me “daftie” occasionally

- I was stressing about an upcoming event because I was having my hair and makeup done. He asked me why I was having someone else do it and I said “because I want to look beautiful”, to which he said “why don’t you just do it yourself”

- sometimes I will see him look at my boobs

- he sometimes gets a little jealous I think. When another man gave me a lift into work, he called me a “wimp” and when I asked for help on something, he said “why don’t you get “other guy” to help you”

I think a coworker was flirting with me. I caught him checking me out a few times and before Christmas he strikes up a conversation with me and tried to extend it during the entire shift. He also kept asking me questions about my plans for the night, weekend, my living situation and offered several times that day to drive me home since we live in the same neighborhood. I had a feeling he was flirting with me because he seemed genuinely curious and always agreed with everything I said as if he wanted me to approve of him.

About 4 weeks later he came into my office (wearing pretty much cologne) even though there were plenty of empty rooms available so I figured he might like me a bit. But that day he was very busy and very disinterested in the conversation as if he tried to make the point that I’m not his type. Later he disclosed that his girlfriend was about to move into his apartment.

Now my questions are:

did he actually flirt the first time or was he just trying to be nice to a new acquaintance?

And if he did, why would he try to suck up to me if he already has a relationship and then pull back and act super disinterested in me?
