I think men should still abide by that belief as they're still the much physically stronger gender.
I think it's such an antiquated and obsolete belief today, especially now that many women these days don't even behave like ladies themselves.
I'm mixed on this. A man ideally shouldn't be laying his hands on a woman, but if he must, use only a necessary amount of force when put in a situation of being attacked by a woman.
