Several major media organizations have demanded access to the thousands of hours of video recorded inside the U. S. Capitol during the Jan. 6, 2021, insurrection after House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) gave the footage to Fox News host Tucker Carlson.
The letter, sent to congressional leaders Friday, argues the footage given exclusively to Carlson should be shared with other media groups. Earlier this week, McCarthy gave Carlson 41,000 hours of closed-circuit footage from inside the U. S. Capitol during the attack.

The letter was sent on behalf of ABC, Advance Publications, Axios, CNN, CBS, Gannett, the Los Angeles Times, Politico, ProPublica and Scripps.

Attorney Charles Tobin, representing the outlets, said full public access to the footage is needed to complete the historical record.

“Without full public access to the complete historical record, there is concern that an ideologically-based narrative of an already polarizing event will take hold in the public consciousness, with destabilizing risks to the legitimacy of Congress, the Capitol Police, and the various federal investigations and prosecutions of January 6 crimes,” Tobin wrote in the letter.
Carlson has repeatedly defended rioters who attacked the Capitol and called the hearings on Jan. 6 insurrection “propaganda.”

For some reason the Tinder and Bumble dating apps are barely working out for me. I get matches here and there (on Tinder only, but not so much on Bumble), I almost took my dad's word for it... so I did what he said regarding the pics and I put in the bio that I'm just a chill dude looking for love, looking for a gym partner, and I got around 21 matches total but all of them were either catfishes or real ones reluctant to respond... even though I always wait a day+ to start a chat... so after about four days on Tinder I deleted the account, called my dad, he advised me not to delete it and give up because here's what he said:

I wasn't needy, didn't get too personal, didn't even go with the boring "h-word" greetings as my dad would have suggested I went with, but I asked questions based on bio's and attempted to play emoji character games to determine a movie and etc and still hadn't gotten a response in almost a week or forever really... but that's just Tinder. It's even worse on Bumble, I get a useless catfish match or even hidden likes that I don't even match with and that's with expanding the location to worldwide... I get no likes nearby... and here's the pics my dad suggested using (plus one I decided to use which my dad also liked)

That said I recreated my accounts on dating apps and fared even worse, still got three new-ish matches (still mostly catfish ones) on Tinder but none on Bumble... my dad suggested I wait for as long as possible but for some reason I don't believe my dad when he says that girls wait a year to respond... he said one thing that's true though and that's many girls are looking for a guy like me, I just don't know it yet

but I ended up deleting them again... even as though my dad told me not to worry about the algorithm...

I finally met a woman who makes me feel comfortable and had an instant connection with. But from the start, she has said I am not the type of man she wants, although the lines have blurred at times with things she has asked. I didn't want to hear it because I like her so much, but I figured I'd rather have her as a friend than not at all because we get on so well.

Things started slow but grew to where we were talking for hours every day. This is not like me, I don't talk to anyone, but with her it feels natural. even the pauses felt comfortable. I have never got on with anyone like her. I know it's not alpha, but I like the support we give each other.

Our relationship has been purely phone-based for a year because we live apart and neither of us tried to change that until a couple of weeks ago.
The day started great, she text me first, and later she called. It was our best chat yet. 2 hours into the call and I mentioned I was going to be in her town soon, so I suggested we should hang out or get lunch. She reacted badly and we had our first disagreement. She said meeting once would change nothing. The call ended awkwardly. A couple of days later she called me, and I apologised for putting her on the spot, she said I upset her but she upset herself too. I asked if we were OK and she said yes. That call was short but still awkward. We went from talking every day to nothing for 2 weeks which has made me soo down because I felt like I lost my best friend, but yesterday she called me out the blue and was talking like she used to. she sent a couple of texts which had her playfulness back too. The calls were short as I was at work and couldn't talk, but I text her at the end of the day and she didn't respond. I text her again today and she replied with a single word and a smiley emoji

What does she want?
Why react negatively to an innocent invite?

Why start communicating again, but later fail to reply to my texts?

McCarthy tells Mayorkas to ‘stop lying’ about border

Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) took aim at Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas during a visit to the U. S.-Mexico border on Thursday, fueling an argument that could help lay the groundwork for a potential impeachment.

“This has got to stop. And it starts with the Secretary of Homeland. Stop lying to the American public. Tell them the truth what’s happening, and change back the regulation that we had before so our border can be secure,” McCarthy said in a press conference from Cochise County, Ariz., with the border fence in the background.

McCarthy did not specify what he thought Mayorkas lied about, but Republicans have repeatedly dinged him for testifying in a congressional hearing last year that the border is secure.

The issue of whether there is “operational control” at the border is central to the argument from hard-line conservative House Republicans that Mayorkas should be impeached.

That term refers to the Secure Fence Act of 2006, a law that says operational control of the border means prevention “of all unlawful entries” to the United States.

McCarthy has not endorsed impeaching Mayorkas, but in November called on him to resign, saying that House GOP investigations will determine whether they can open an impeachment inquiry.
