Hey, so I have a huge crush on a male coworker. We are quite close at work and we flirt together. However, we are not in a position to date each other.

I saw him the other weekend and we were both a little drunk. I ended up telling him how I felt about him. I asked him if he liked me back and he said “you’re a lovely person”. I kept asking him, and he kept saying that I’m lovely. Eventually, he said “yes I do, but we can’t be together” and then we had a couple of quick kisses on the lips.

Since then, he’s been awkward around me at work. There is a stark contrast between how he was before and how he is now. He says that everything’s fine and our friendship is unaffected. He even said he didn’t remember what happened, even though I text him the next day apologising and he said it was fine.

Every time I’ve seen him outside of work and we’ve had a few drinks, he’s always been very huggy and has even nuzzled into my hair.

At work, he is hot and cold. He used to stare at me a lot but now he seems to avoid eye contact. And when we have lunch, he used to sit beside me or opposite me. But now he either sits by me but moves his chair further down the table or he sits diagonally opposite me.

I’ve noticed he does still joke with me and his voice goes soft if it’s just us two. Why is he being like this? Does he have feelings for me?

I have been working at my current company for almost 2 and a half years now. I've recently developed a crush on a colleague, but we've always had a flirty relationship. However, due to our situations, it would be almost impossible to have a relationship together. He's always been lovely to me and the flirting included things like him doing silly things to get my attention, staring at me, prolonged/strong eye contact, going out of his way to help me, seeming jealous about other men, organising the gifts/cards for my 30th birthday etc etc. I've always felt fairly confident that he felt the same way.

HOWEVER, a few weekends ago, we met up on a night out. I had too much to drink and I ended up telling him that I really liked him as more than a friend. I asked him if he liked me back, to which he said "you're a lovely person". I kept asking him, being persistent with it - he kept repeating “you’re a lovely person” and I eventually said "just answer the question", to which he replied "yes, I do but we can't be together etc". I think we had a few quick kisses on the lips, not a proper kiss, but a peck.

The day after, I apologised to him for potentially putting him in an awkward position, to which he said "don't worry about it".

The next week at work, he apparently wasn't aware of what happened. I told him that I had kissed him and he looked shocked, saying "that's not ideal, I wouldn't have kissed you properly". For the rest of the week, he barely spoke to me and was hot and cold in his behaviour towards me.

He has gotten better but he doesn't flirt with me like he used to before all this happened. He has shown being jealous because he overheard me saying I was going on a date. I saw him look in my direction and when I told him to have a nice weekend, he abruptly said “bye”

Was there any truth in him telling me that he likes me? Does he still like me? If so, why is he being weird?

If you ask a girl out on a date and she refuses for a long time and you keep insisting until finally she says yes, you take her to a restaurant but when it comes time to order, you order a cheesecake.

you invited her to a dinner date but you order a cheesecake? Does this mean something?

of course after he ordered a cheese cake I felt weird ordering an actual plate so I ordered a cheesecake as well lol. Wtf? I was kind of happy I didn’t order first that would have been too awkward.

p. s. I had never been on a first date ever so I don't know if people on first dates are scared to eat real food or if this has a different meaning like he insisted so much but wants to end the date as soon as it starts because cheesecake will be served almost instantly and finish it just as fast?

2 days ago i went on a date with a guy. He lives in another state it got late he missed the last train home and didn't have a ride. He said before the date that he is looking for a serious relationship only. So he said if he will like me during the date he will kiss me on the forehead that's how i'll know he is serious about me. He kissed me on the forehead about 3 hours into the date and i invited him to stay at my place because he could'nt go home. We didn't have seggs although we kissed and cuddled during his stay. We kept texting after the date but now he doesn't seem as enthusiastic in his texts as he was before. Something is off like we have nothing to talk about although everything was perfect before and on the date. It's kinda awkward. He used to spend all his time talking to me, he talks a lot to me still but its not the same as before.

Am i just overthinking this or did i get lovebombed?

I was on a Christian dating app, and I found a guy who lived close to me to hang out with in person. We both desire to be married. During the 1st date, we talked about our pasts, like dating/sexual history, family life, and the basics. We briefly talked about our faiths and encounters/revelations, but we didn't dive into that. He doesn't text super often when we are not together, so I started conversations a couple of times to get to know him more during our time apart. He wanted to see me 3 days ago, so we met and had a great time. I still don't fully understand some awkward moments, like him not feeling comfortable picking up a phone call from someone I didn't know while I was with him. I told him I can give him privacy, and he insisted it was okay, but his mood had changed drastically. Besides that, we spent 5 hours together and bonded a lot more, even though we didn't mention our faith at all during that time.

I told him I liked him while we were hanging out, and he said he liked me too. I asked if he wanted to go ahead and start a relationship with me since it was fair to consider how much we were attracted to each other during that time. He said he wanted to go on more dates before we reached that point, which I am fine with. He told me after the date that he had lots of fun, but the following day, I felt we weren't discussing the important things that should've been covered on the 1st date, like faith. I sent him a message asking him to pray about getting God's perspective about us before continuing to ensure that we are compatible. He left me on read, and I had to send a clarifying message the next day letting him know that I didn't mean harm with that last message and apologized for coming off strong. He said it was alright, he understood, but he had never heard someone praying for that. I thanked him and told him I had heard people receiving that information from God before, but I realized that people's experiences can differ. He left me on read again.
