I like a guy who's too shy?

Being raised in a conservative household with traditional values, I've always only liked guys who had the same values. So I recently met this guy at a party, he was awkward and shy but we ended up exchanging numbers. He told me that he'd never been in a relationship before. After like 3 brief messages, he asked me out for dinner the next day- the conversation was super awkward, like I could tell he wasn't used to talking to girls. Initially, I wasn't sure about him but I saw on socials that he was really reserved and religious so I started liking him after finding out that he was practically my type. I said yes to the date, but as soon as I asked him where to meet, he stopped replying.

I was confused, so I left it, but a week later he apologised and asked me out for dinner again. I don't know why, but I really liked him given his family values and traditional upbringing, so I said yes, but he ghosted me again.

He's scared and very unsure of himself. He's going to be a mess until he learns a lot more self-confidence, but this can take a lot of time- years and years. I don't like saying this to you because I know you see him as a good fit, but take it from a guy who was kinda like him (maybe not quite as extreme but I did lack confidence and grew up in a religious household and had- and still have- strong values) that he is not going to be wise relationship material until he can get himself together and be a confident leader in a relationship so that you can trust him completely. Hey, thanks for the reply and for giving such a detailed response. We have mutual friends who say he's a really nice and considerate person, but I was wondering why he'd me out if he was really that scared and unsure. Like I know some people who chat but are afraid to ask the other person out, but here he asks me out for the very next day, then ghosts me. He comes back a week later, texts me in the morning and asks me out for that very same night and ghosts me again!
I find it kinda disrespectful
