I was chubby growing up & always assumed losing weight would result in getting more attention from quality guys (not counting the catcalling that happened when I’d go to NY). Now, here I am at almost 30, in a taller/slimmer body (women’s US 10) & I’ve never been approached by a guy I’d actually consider dating. I used to get more attention (but not much compared to other women I knew) but it was usually from questionable guys. And I’m told I’m attractive yet these women I knew would get an abundance of attention from guys. While people told me I was more attractive than these women & these guys that approached them would eventually show they wanted a *good time* a majority of the time, I just never understood why I always seem to be overlooked by guys. On occasion, people would tell me that this & that guy would be looking at me/found me attractive, those were the same guys I found attractive but they NEVER made it known to me directly. I should feel better about myself & while I’ve become more comfortable in my skin over the years, this is truthfully an insecurity that I don’t think I’ll ever completely overcome. Am I just unlucky? Or are most women really that fortunate to have their pick of the litter? I’ve gotten attention from attractive guys on dating apps but it doesn’t hold the same value to me, compared to if those same guys approached me in person. When I say *approached*, I mean in any imaginable scenario: clubs, bars, grocery shopping, coffee shops etc.

Would you consider talking again to someone from dating app that you spoke to for a few weeks, assumed they unmatched & they reach out again saying they deleted their account? Or am I being too harsh? We spoke for maybe 2 weeks back in December on Hinge, I thought it was fine until out of the blue his convo disappears & I assume he unmatched. Last week, I get a notification he liked my prompt & decided to match with him b/c I was curious to hear his stance, as to why he unmatched the first time around. Now he sends this message shortly after & seems like he deleted his account that first time. So if you “enjoyed” talking with me, why didn’t you take the initiative to keep the convo going outside of the app if you knew you were going to delete it? I remember him mentioning he wasn’t on social media & I wasn’t comfortable with sharing my #…still I feel like there could’ve been more effort if you actually care. He explains his reason for deleting the account, I was pretty blunt, his last reply was on Sunday & I haven’t heard back yet.

I’m 26 and never had a boyfriend. So I’m confused , once you get a boyfriend , the girl just tells him let’s meet my family and he says yes? what if he says no and never agrees to meet family after a year or longer? Do you continue dating him many years or dump him? I see all girls bring bfs to family holdiays Easter Thanksgiving Christmas , bday parties, attend Restraunts with family and bring her boyfriend, how they do all that? How does a guy agree to all that? I assume if a girl shows up to all those events alone she would be single.

or maybe I don’t know as I never had a boyfriend? I never had a guy say we are offical couple. ☹️

I recently met a man on a dating app, and things were going great with him initially. Within the last week, he went utterly radio silent in communicating with me (even through text). I confronted him about it a couple of days before our 3rd date, and he disclosed how he had a situation with someone else he was seeing (we weren't exclusive) where it affected him so severely that he didn't have it in him to talk to anyone for that long. I thought that was weird since, on the 2nd date, he disclosed that he liked me and only needed a few more dates before asking me to be his official girlfriend. I didn't see a point in him speaking to other women either since our goal of dating is marriage, and we have similar goals.

I met with him today for our 3rd date, and the date was okay. We weren't as expressive as we were during our 2nd date, but we had good conversations. I asked him about his intentions with me since I was confused about the other situation, and he told me that we were on dates and would see if he wanted me to be his girlfriend. He asked if I told my family about him, which I said not really since he and I aren't in a relationship. Then, he disclosed that he showed a picture of me to his family and told them about me, and they said, "She's a pretty lady."

I don't know what this means at all. I don't know if that's a good sign that he likes me and will ask me to be his girlfriend soon or not. I know he has a good relationship with his family, so I think they might've asked if he found someone, and that's why he showed me, but I'm just assuming. We haven't had sex or even kissed throughout our dates, but that's boundaries we set up to ensure that we are genuinely compatible besides that aspect for now. What do you think?

My ex and I were in a 4.5 year relationship before he ended it about 7 months ago now. His mom and I, while I was with her son, didn't have the best relationship due to external factors like my family's stance on the union and other things since it was an interracial relationship. After the split, she became kind towards me and helped me emotionally/mentally as a mother figure, basically treating me drastically differently than before. She even told me the day after the breakup that she believes her son needs to mature during this time to be ready for marriage with me since we were planning on getting engaged this upcoming year. That obviously should've been kept to herself since I was in a vulnerable place and assumed that he told her that, which led to delayed healing.

Since then, I have met up with my ex's parents a couple of times just because they wanted to see me, and they have treated me with tremendous respect and kindness. They invited me to their home to help paint furniture, and during that time, the mom kept referring to me as daughter-in-law even though my ex and I hadn't spoken to each other in months. We also talked about my healing during that time, and she supported my journey. Her son's birthday was in October, and she asked if I wished him a happy birthday. I said no since he told me that he wasn't comfortable with me communicating with him at the beginning of the breakup. My birthday was in December, and she didn't wish me a happy birthday, but today, she wished me a happy holiday season and asked if I was dating anyone. I didn't respond to her question and was taken aback by it since there was no reason for her to ask that. I have removed him and that whole family from my social medias, so maybe that's part of the reason why? Do you think my ex is asking her to find out on his behalf? Why wouldn't he just message me to find out?
