I have had at least 75 first dates as a result of online dating, and a few were horrible (pictures not current, lied about age, etc.) Most of them weren't that awful, but we just weren't a good match. When I got some experience with rejecting a lady, I eventually decided that the best thing to do was to walk the lady back to her car, no good night kiss, no hug, tell her that I enjoyed meeting her, she seems like a nice lady, but I don't think we're a good match and I wished her good luck with her search. That stopped any expectations from developing and avoided the appearance of misleading her in any way. Maybe that isn't how she wanted to hear that message, but I thought it was better than taking the easy way out by texting or simply not calling her again.

If you were the lady on one of those first dates, how and when would you want that message conveyed to you? If you were the guy, how do you think that message should be delivered?

(Yes, I know that it isn't entirely up to me to decide whether to have a second date; a woman can reject me after the first date, and I have had that experience. I’m germ-aware. I know what germs are and have had phases of Germophobia so I know how it feels to be disgusted, grossed out and uncomfortable thinking about germs. I am very much germ aware, and my Germophobia will kick in when it needs to. During Covid, we were all germaphobic. I believe post Covid. Some people are ridiculously germphobic to the point where I find it quite obsessive and it makes me cringe. I feel that women on average aren’t as germaphobic as guys. Guys are most of the slightly homophobic to a degree. Don’t believe me go to the bathroom and if you see five urinals in a row, it’s just a code. guys always pick 1,3,5 or every other urinal unless it’s really busy, we’re pissing next to each other. A better example is dudes sharing drinks with each other. So the thought of sharing drinks with another guy’s germs are cringe but, if it were a hot girls water dudes will oddly gargle it and swish it around. Not to say women aren’t germaphobes but, I feel like woman are more rational about their germaphobia. I just don’t want to stress over germs more than the next guy because the next guy is making me stress over germs way more than imaginable, and doesn’t stress weaken, your immune system therefore, it’s possible to blame somebody’s flu they caught from Germophobia. Don’t get me wrong. It would be nice. If everywhere they serve food they were gloves and it would help but I live in Philadelphia the best cheesesteaks you’re gonna get, they are not wearing gloves! Every pizza you ever had the guy never wear gloves I do understand. Pizza is a little more safe, because after the pizzas out the oven, he’s just cutting it on the box and barely touching it, still no gloves, though. It really irks me the people that have to say something, “ are you not wearing gloves?” Like if I was with somebody and they asked the person who handled our food a question like that I would expect the guy that handles our food to spit in it next time.

The nerd: reads tons of books and talks about video games and movies. isn't very masculine. Kind of awkward but sweet.

The chad: hyper masculine. Tall with a large strong structure. Square jaw. Is into traditional masculine things such as sports, cars, and drinking with his buddies. Highly successful in his career. Has a high body count with lots of dating options.

The boy next door: nice looking, but more in an endearing, rather than sexually kind of way. Not tall, not short. Has long dark hair. Is kind and a bit mysterious. Genuine. He works carpentry and has a passion for custom woodworking, has a love for coffee, nature, and hanging with his dog.

The beta: the nice guy who you are not very attracted to but feel safe with. He gives you emotional support and cherishes the ground you step on. He's financially stable and don't worry about him cheating.

The sugar daddy: the old rich guy who you exchange sex for money. Purely transactional. He travels you around the world, takes you to the finest restaurants in the city and buys you nice things.

The starving artist: could be a sculptor, a guitarist, an actor, etc. Has talent but yet to be discovered big time. He is interesting and fun, but broke. He works a low wage job while hoping for his future. You have feelings for him, but have uncertainty.
