How do girls politely reject a guy?

I like this girl and I didn’t ask her to be my girlfriend but I asked her to have lunch sometime with me. First time she said “yea maybe sometime” then a couple days ago she left me on delivered. I don’t want to wait until I get a direct no because she’s a nice girl and I’m not trying to ignore her. Is this her saying no or just not sure about a day? I’m bad at reading peoples

So if a girl says anything other then “yes let’s do it” while she equally attempts to make things happen, then it’s an automatic no. The “maybe sometime” in the first response was a soft indirect reject. If a woman is serious about plans with you, she’s going to make sure it happens rather soon

Damn ok thanks for telling me or I would’ve not gotten the hint and kept pursuing lol but I guess I got my answer. Is it like unpopular to say no straight up nowadays? Like I get it it’ll be tough on some people but at least people get their answer immediately

@asker people in this day and age are so bad with communication that indirect communication is the norm, and if you are following her on social media, she most likely soft rejected you to keep you in the loop of her follows
