I have dated probably a hundred women over the past 35 years. Most of the breakups were the civilized, "this doesn't seem to be working well for either of us" kind of break ups. A few were the embarrassing kind that bring out the worst in everyone. At least the bad break ups helped me to avoid picking such awful partners again.

The worst involved my girlfriend getting drunk, accusing me of being unfaithful with various women around the country (I was at home EVERY night and never cheated on her,) trying to snatch my phone from my hand, losing her grip and falling backwards, hitting her head on the wall, then calling police and having ME arrested for domestic violence. Typical cop bias resulted in me spending a night in jail before the prosecutor eventually decided that there was NO evidence to support any domestic violence charge and the case was dismissed. Lesson learned and I now stay away from girls who seem to drink just a little too much, too often.

Have most of your break ups been peaceful? Any horror stories to share?

My own take: Ideally, you shouldn't hit a woman, but unfortunately, many young women out there today want to behave aggressively like men and push a man's buttons knowing he won't do anything back to having a belief instilled into him that he should never hit a girl so they take advantage of that.

If a man has no other choice, he should use only the necessary amount of physical force on a female aggressor to defuse such situation. While I don't advocate or encourage violence against women at all, at the same time, I won't feel sympathy for women who willingly put themselves in an unnecessary position of getting physically hurt by a man after trying to pick a fight. That, to me, is the equivalent of a human male picking a fight with a grizzly bear, not expecting to get his face mauled/destroyed after that.

A 16-year-old girl died from a gunshot wound to the head Tuesday morning, and the suspect has turned himself in, according to Boone County Sheriff Michael Helmig.

Deputies were sent to a home in the area of Silver Brook and Kingsgate drives in Burlington around 2:18 a. m. after they received a report that someone had been shot.

They say they found 16-year-old Scarlett Tucker in a bedroom with an apparent gunshot wound to the head.

Deputies say they received reports that the suspected shooter, 18-year-old Demarkus Hedges, of Cincinnati, left the scene in a vehicle.

According to the detectives, witnesses said a bag of marijuana fell on the bedroom floor and Hedges demanded that Tucker pick it up.

They told detectives Tucker refused and Hedges then pointed his handgun at her head and fired one shot.

Tucker was pronounced dead at the scene.
