So I met a woman through work, but she works for another company. We've been talking to each other for months, but in the past month or so started to have much more contact with each other, we call or text each other daily, but we are yet to meet.

We flirt, and are vulnerable and supportive of each other when we need it. She comes to me with her problems and I feel like I can go to hers with mine - but its not all problems that we talk about.

I really like this woman, I think about her a lot, but neither of us has made a direct move on the other. I've told her what I think of her, but not how I feel. I've suggested we should meet a couple of times, not with any intentions, but she deflects and indicates that she doesn't think we would work, but we get on really well. She then proceeds to talk romantically to me, asking me about my love history or what my love language is etc, so I'm a bit confused as to what she actually wants.

I know other men would be interested in her, it would be impossible for them not to be. She has told me about men which were interested previously, but didn't work out including ex's. This does make me jealous, but that's my problem, so I just listen to her.

This is the first time she has shown me any messages she received. It was a very flirtatious text from a co-worker and very inappropriate. She told me she's not shown any interest in him, and didn't like the message but won't report him. I know her well enough to know that kind of message wouldn't work for her anyway.

I guess my question is two-fold, what do you think she wants overall, and why did she show me the message?

I’ve had to break things off down two women in the recent years (one was a marriage was possibility) and still deep down respect them. That is I didn’t blame them for my decision and it was agonizingly difficult decision to make. They were decent women and did nothing fundamentally wrong (e. g. cheating, abuse, lying about major issues)

But I think hard before major decisions and I knew there would be likely major trouble with both women in the future. So I knew they would be heartbroken but I did everything respectfully as possible. I did everything face to face while making eye contact and telling them they didn’t do anything wrong as a person. Told I respected them and I meant it. But it was the decision I had to make.

But I never had woman give me anything remotely close to that kind of respect when I got dumped. Instead I was once told straight to my face by a girl who I casually dated (and considered making it more serious) that “When I like someone I well tell them”. She decided to break it off with me and inferred she never told me she “liked me”. She then had f*cking nerve to ask if we could still be “friends”. I told her fuck no of course.

I also was (initially) respectfully dumped by another girl who a few weeks later literally told me “tough luck you’re an ex” when I informed her about a serious health issue I had at the time.

I’ve also had another girl completely ghost me after almost dating for a year after a minor argument (the relationship was getting rocky but still).

Obviously 99% of the time you will never actually “like” anyone you break up with. Rare exception is some sort of kind of tragic romance where you break up with person you “like” because you are pledged to marry someone else.

However you can respect someone you break up with if they never did anything to intentional harm you (abuse, cheating, etc). But from my experience women usually equate likeability with respect.

She is an office mate, and I have to add that she is a fat girl, and I am saying this, because people think that this may have relation.
When I started meeting her in the office; and I began to be interested in her, she became "crazy" because I was interested in her. I also saw her, because she was constantly looking for me, she would come in an hour before to see me, etc. She began to tell me to meet, and like "whenever you want", "wherever you want", "I'm going to look for you" with a lot of desire. Soon we met, we went to dinner and then we spent the night together; I interpreted that it went very well; In fact she don’t wanted to leave, she wanted to stay with me, but I had to work. Until there everything seemed perfect. In fact, in a later discussion, she told me that she had a great time when we met and she was delighted. The thing is that we kept talking all day, she worried about me. Let's see, everything was fine, but when it was time to meet again, she didn't say no but we didn't meet; It was like she was scared or something.
Like this for months, and when I was tough and told her to stop talking few days later she was looking for an excuse to talk to me again. When talking about the subject it was impossible to get anything out of her, that she does think I'm very hot, that she likes me and such.
A week ago I left for another job and asked her more thoroughly. She told me after insisting again after many months, that she was comfortable with me but that she knew that for a night of sex she was not going to be the woman of my life. That she didn't expect me to want anything more than that with her and that it scared her. I asked her several times about the fear of a relationship with me and she didn't answer any, she just insisted over and over again that she didn't want to lose contact. Several people have told me that they didn't expect me to notice her and we don't hit as a couple, due to her physique. Because we talked and even so she complimented me.
