High school...It as it is, people need to get over it

The title is provocative, but I don't care...It's just an opinion....

Some myTakes made me want to post this.

People always complain:

- The popular kids have it all

- I hate being bullied

- I hate not making friends

- I hate not being understood

- I hate how the cool kids get everything

These points reek of envy and bitterness, but then people should really get over it...

Look at it this way.

Nobody has to accept you. Yes, NOBODY. You have to earn good associations with ALL.

To deal with the beast, you have to understand the beast. This is meant literally and figuratively. Teenagers nay human beings are hierarchical, and one upmanship is key here. You have to just roll with it, or have some gratitude. If people are in war zones, or slaves, why do you bitch about people in some school who don't care about you? This can even make the cool kids 'less evil', because you know their motivations and they act as they do.

And maybe YOU are doing something wrong. Maybe the culture of your school doesn't like people like you, and never has. Maybe you do shit you don't realise, and they don't like you. Maybe life doesn't someimtes have meaning, and you suck it up.

But then I reckon it's about kids who envy the cool kids...lolol....sorry, but they just have/had looks or connections or stuff you didn't.

I know this will get flames, but then complaining about high school just seems a bit odd.

This sounds like it was written by a child. Any adult knows that we complain about life all the time, and a lot of the same issues in high school apply in adulthood. So why would complaining about high school be odd when everyone (or the vast majority of humanity) complains about things in life?

I think anyone saying people should just accept bullying, physical and verbal abuse and assault as "just the way things are, so deal with it" must either be a complete idiot, someone who abuses people themselves, or again, a child. I know those little bastards better not fuck with my future kids. I'll light that bitch up with lawsuits so fast and/or whoop some kids ass. Don't fuck with my future babies.

However, this is probably why I'll send my kids to private school or some shit. I went to a pretty sheltered (and expensive) high school. I wasn't popular, but bullying on school campus wasn't something I heard of. Granted, it was an all girls school. We all wore uniforms too, so while I'm sure some people were teased, the extent and opportunity for it wasn't the same. I'm also half black and I think that may have helped. The closest I got to real teasing in high school was a back and forth exchange of humorous insults with another girl in school. We kind of meant the insults, but we were also trying to make fun of each other for comic relief.

any my OPINION is that shit happens, and we cannot always control what happens. I'm sure many other adults would concur with that sentiment.

But then as a fellow adult (which you are, if you didn't know) you should know that part of living as a human being is accepting people can and will do anything. and that the world isn't always a nice place. but there you , i bet you'll "force" me to accept your views, but not you mine... lolol.. too rich.

No one can force you to accept anything. We can just encourage others not to indulge in the same thinking and use reason to try to improve treatment and prevention for assault, bullying, and trauma imposed upon upon young people. What you think, individually, is really inconsequential, to be honest. However, it is still reflective of who you are as a person and doesn't shine too well on your character. Not that you have to care, but you put an opinion out into the world, and people have a right to judge you for your views, as they show us who you are and what you think about varying situations and people. That is all.

Please never have children though.

Unfortunately, due to social media, high school lasts beyond those high school years.

All my friends from high school, I am still friends with and speak with them everyday on social media, phone calls and visit them from time to time (we have all moved during our college years and relocated for jobs after college).

All of the bullies from high school... they have stuck close to me after high school. The upside is that... while in high school, they thought were the shit because they smoked weed, physically matured faster and were popular. NOW... the tables have turned. I finished college, have a $40,000 a year job, Camaro, apartment and I am fit.

All of my bullies are now sitting on the sidelines in social media space posting pictures of the kids they had immediately out of high school, are now kinda fat and are working a menial 9-5 job at retail stores.

In high school, they thought they were better than me... but they now watch me post all of this great stuff about my life while there lives have went to shit.

I too took a lot of flack from guys who acted like they were so great and so much better than me, and always put me down all the time. From what iv seen on facebook and elsewhere most of them have made very poor life choices and now have kids they can't support and have several different women they owe child support too.

Thankfully our teen years don't define us forever. Its nice to see the tables turn sometimes.

Lol... you act like the Camaro is 100k XD. You can get a Camaro (a new one) in my area for 23k. I actually got mine used for 15k. The guy did't want it any longer because of accident damage (very minor) and got a better car XD. So I took it off his hands, got that minor repair fixed and it has only 20,000 miles on it.

People don't have to be your friend, but people do have to respect you. I think this is where most of the complaints about high school come from. People in high school are the little monsters coming out of middle school (haha) And in high school you aren't being judged on your personality all the time. A lot of times you are persecuted for your clothes, your hair, your intelligence, your attitude.

I had a pretty good time in high school, and I had some really awesome friends (that I still love to this day) But I still understand where the people who hated it come from. Because high school can be hard for people that don't have the money to dress cool, the help to learn (not everyone learns the same and that's ok), and the natural disposition to shine. And I think a lot of people are not upset about being less than popular but about feeling like no one cares for them because they are being bullied or excluded. And those are real problems. Because at that age, you need that human contact and connection for the hard years to come.

high school isn't bad at all. i dont understand why kids make it seem so bad. yeah you wake up early and do some work but its not too hard. be positive and do your thing. you can do pretty much whatever you want. you can be in sports, cool electives, arts, and clubs. its the easiest time of your life. you get to have a lot of fun. stop complaining and being so lazy. i was never popular till i got to HS. i started being nice but chill. i was being myself and people really liked me. its honestly a lot of fun people need to stop complaining. ya not everything we did was great but you should at least get involved.

I guess you're talking about my take, obviously. You took it a bit too seriously. :P I like high school because it's going to help me with the career I want to pursue, and I love seeing my friends, and the clubs that I joined. I'm going to make a follow up about the positive things about it. I wrote that take because it got a lot of votes on the poll I posted. I don't really hate it.

I agree. I had a very rough time in high school, but its just one small chapter of your life.

People sometimes bully and belittle you, but you will encounter assholes as an adult in the working world too.

When I was a teen, I hated high school and felt my life would be so much better when I was done, now I catch myself longing for those days again very badly sometimes.
