And I thought I was the only person who realized this! It's true celebrities get praised for more things that are dangerous to the average humans. Like a danger emotionally around them it's a sad thing.

I would hardly call Sheen and Johnson heroes for having loads of unprotected sex with questionable partners and then getting HIV as a result.
Not really. Neither of them had a choice in the matter; Sheen was being sued, and Johnson had to explain himself eventually. And we certainly don't want to encourage the reckless behavior both of them exhibited that got them into their predicaments to begin with.
I never said that I do. The title of my mytake is simply to draw attention and quote what I've heard other people call celebs that reveal a secret.
If you read my article that isn't my discussion at all. I'm solely getting at the fact that it's unfair that people look at celebs as heroes for revealing their secret , but the average person gets condemned when they share those very same secrets.
I don't think it's right at all. People shouldn't let someones financial status influence the way they perceive someones news.
A hero to me is Martin Luther King Jr , Harriet Tub man , The firefighters and police force on 9/11 etc etc. I don't consider those acts heroic. @RainbowFanGirl sums up my entire article pretty much because it's what I stated.
It took no heroism for Sheen to reveal his HIV status. He did so because he could no longer afford more than the Ten Million Dollars he had already paid in hush money. What's more he kept screwing women without revealing his infected status.
@RasmusAiken I think it's sickening that the word hero is losing its value. What he did is sickening and disturbing. He has been with 5,000 people. Even after finding out his status he slept with hundreds more. Its clear to see he has a drug/sex addiction problem and needs serious help. I've seen on message boards some people praise and label him hero. I couldn't understand it. I never do when celebs are labeled these things. It always made me wonder... why are celebs look at such and average people not? Over the years I've seen on message boards celebs get praised for coming out with shocking secrets.
*Why are celebs looked at as such and average people not?
(I don't agree with the whole hero thing) But if someone is going to describe a celeb as a hero for revealing a secret like that, why condemn those who have a low status that aren't celebs?
It is BECAUSE of these celebrities that our pop culture is moving in a more acceptable direction. Magic is a hero because he didn't let his condition stop his success IN THE 90's.
Charlie Sheen should not be seen as a hero. His HIV is the result of living a fast life. Unlike Magic's situation, society today is far more tolerate of HIV-positive people.
Actually he did. He quit playing because he felt his HIV status was affecting how other players guarded him. It actually helped his game in that some guys didn't want to swap sweat with him.
Bruce Jenner got great implants and wears a dress and is awarded the same award as Pat Tillman. Pat Tillman, a hero who instead of playing NFL football and making millions of dollars, enlisted in the military and fought and died for his country. He is a real hero, not a trannt like Bruce Jenner.
To be fair Charlie Sheen only came out about having HIV because he was tired of paying his blackmailer. But I agree with the other users that these celebs are only seen as hero's because of the media and their money.
Yeah I get it. Don't put celebs on a pedestal as heroes when their are people going through the same thing around. Doesn't mean I can't agree with the other users on celebs being "hero's".
Yea , I never actually stated whether I agree with the "hero" thing in this article. The fact is I don't. The word is often misused. Thanks for reading !
If i was trans i would be pretty steamed that the person providing so much help is also hurting the image by being a colossal fucknut. Never liked jenner. Same with hiv and sheen.
Let's give taylor swift aids and a dick. I like her.
I hate when people put celebrities on a pedestal. Don't they realize that celebrities are human beings too which means they also have flaws, problems and they're gonna die some day? It's stupid.
A lot wrong with ol' Charlie boy. The jury is still out as to whether he was still having sex with his latest ex after he was diagnosed. That is definitely not "hero" class.

Well im gay, and i can't imagine myself falling in love with the oppesite sex, i kept this as a secret from my family and friends, no one knows except the people i dated, its a lot of pressure.
Charlie Sheen was highly sexually active for years after discovering he had hiv and he didn't tell any of his partners. He isn't a hero. He is a murderer.
You're only reading the title and jumping to a conclusion.
Please , Read the article.
My entire argument is, if people want to consider celebs heroes for revealing intimate secrets about themselves then why can't they view a regular person that same way if they have the same secret? People let a person's financial status define how they interpret aspects of their everyday lives. I don't think that is fair.
The title is simply in reference to what some people say about their favorite celebs when they reveal a secret.
My personal opinion about whether I agree about celebs being heroes was never stated in this article. I am solely here to dispute the logic that if people are going to treat someone a certain way they should do the same for all.
From all of them Magic Johnson is a hero. He made massive campaigns against the HIV in times where many thought that the HIV was a gay people an immoral people disease.

How about the fact that revealing their secret encourages others to do the same?
Do you see that has an heroic act?
Not really. Neither of them had a choice in the matter; Sheen was being sued, and Johnson had to explain himself eventually. And we certainly don't want to encourage the reckless behavior both of them exhibited that got them into their predicaments to begin with.
I agree
So do you still think of them as heroes?
I never said that I do. The title of my mytake is simply to draw attention and quote what I've heard other people call celebs that reveal a secret.

When I say , "I don't consider those acts heroic" i am referring to celebs making an announcement just to clarify.

@zagor "Actually he did." BUSINESS success. Didn't think I had to be specific. lol
Business success? He made millions playing basketball and in endorsements.
I agree ! The word hero is often misused.
Bruce Jenner still has his penis
@Wacka16 I know, that makes it even more disgusting.
To be fair Charlie Sheen only came out about having HIV because he was tired of paying his blackmailer. But I agree with the other users that these celebs are only seen as hero's because of the media and their money.
I wrote that in my article.
I think people pretty much read only the title and assumed that's my overall message.
The title is only a quote of what I have heard other people say.
The message is much deeper in my article if one reads it.

^widest sentence ever said.
Great take.
I hate when people put celebrities on a pedestal. Don't they realize that celebrities are human beings too which means they also have flaws, problems and they're gonna die some day?
It's stupid.
Leave Charlie Sheen off this list, The man thinks 9-11 was an inside job and supported a scientology run charity
He's not a hero.
there's a deeper message if you read the article.
This really isn't about him personally.
Yeah but it could easily have accomplished it without putting his picture on it
I wanted to give examples, after all this is MY take.
Do your own with no photos.
Perhaps someone will care enough to read it.
Yeah I guess
I'm just wondering how the hell Charlie sheen convinced 325 women to have sex with him..
It's 5,000 actually.
Nooo wayyy I don't believe that.
Then again, I don't know if I believe the 325 number either.
Easy he's rich and famous and people now a days have no morals and are shallow.
@Phoenix98 THIS.
@Roostah lol thanks.
@Phoenix98 lol touche. That's literally the only reason I can think.
Mhmm me to.
easy, he is rich, not bad looking, and famous
A lot wrong with ol' Charlie boy. The jury is still out as to whether he was still having sex with his latest ex after he was diagnosed. That is definitely not "hero" class.

:( wow. Will you ever get to the level of comfort where you feel free to come out?
I never view them as heroes. Those revelations are just sensational noise to me. Those who think of them as heroes are stupid. Clearly.
Charlie Sheen was highly sexually active for years after discovering he had hiv and he didn't tell any of his partners. He isn't a hero. He is a murderer.
I'm not trying to be rude or anything but how does having an STD make you a hero?
You're only reading the title and jumping to a conclusion.

thanks to the internet's rampant social media, the average person does influence many.
won't be long until the average person is knowledgable enough to build a nuclear device. then you'll have a world where anyone can kill everyone.
I think both are wrong to be honest especially the second one.
Specify please
Hero's for being gay i can't agree to that. These people are not at all hero's.
They're not heroes.
Read my article.
There's a bigger message.
From all of them Magic Johnson is a hero. He made massive campaigns against the HIV in times where many thought that the HIV was a gay people an immoral people disease.
thank you! a person having hiv doesn't automatically make them a bad person.
He is a hero for screwing hundreds of women? That isn't particularly difficult when you're rich and famous.
He did that before he knew he had HIV. After he knew and the way he face it makes him a hero.
heroes, when they can afford the top care, and live in hollywood hardly the most bigoted of places.. lololol.. no.
These people who like to sing, act and dance are the real scum of the earth.
