Lifestyle Trends in 2016

From food to fashion, the year of 2015 has seen trends ranging from "granny" hair, to "boyfriend" jeans. With the new year fast approaching, here are a few trends that you can look out for.

Beauty

Remember that silvery-wispy hair? How about "mermaid hair" (pastel colours)? These will continue onto the new year, along with those coffin-shaped nails.

Thanks to Cara and Adele, strong brows and cat eyes will also be popular.

For guys, the "beard boom" reigns, though some are saying that it's coming to an end... (I don't think so)...

Fashion

Mom/boyfriend/grandma jeans are staying, along with high-rise jeans and ankle booties.

There's also a growing demand for blanket scarves and geometric patterns in fashion.

Classic street shoes will also be making a comeback...

Food

Cold-pressed juices and smoothies are here to stay! Same with infusing water with fruit , and getting creative with personalized drinks.

Avocado will see no loss in popularity, and delicious avocado oil will start to steal some of olive oil's attention.

I love the avocado trend. It makes them so much more available at school dining halls.

And I like the blanket things.

Pretty hair is... well pretty haha.

I must say though, besides the avocado and strong natural brows, I didn't hop onto many trends this year

Not unlike the parade of Belles, Jasmines, and Aerials in my classes whose mothers loved those movies growing up. ;)
