Feminism historically has done so much good with gaining equal rights for women. It's done a good job of bringing people to the modern age. Although from what I heard it seems that some radical feminists have gone over board. They have done things that are very counter productive which has lead to great damage to the movement.
I would call my self a feminist by the old definition. I don't know much about modern feminism because I don't study it. I think there are bigger issues to talk about in the world. I will say that I do think equal rights is still very important in other countries where women are treated like second class citizens.
I agree that there are many social ills in this world. People (men and women) should be allowed a safe home, education, food, water, clothing, and to allow these to one gender and deny it to the other is inherently wrong. My issue with feminism is that it wants to allow this for their own gender, but would dismiss claims from the other for the same. This is not third wave feminism alone, this is deep in the history of the movement.

I have to admit I'm tired of seeing users trash feminism. Rarely you see someone post a myTake supporting feminism and talking about the good it has done. A lot of people want to focus on the bad and nitpick. This is why I have little to no respect for the social groups on this site. Of course by saying this I'll be labeled a feminist because if you don't go with the groupthink then you are a feminist.
