If you want dimes and dames you need to social-max, that is to say you need to be very social popular. Think back to high school, colleges. Who got the most girls ? It was the male who were the most popular, and they often were part of fraternities, played sports etc.

"Popularity" indicates a pretty refined personality and some social status, so yeah those are of course really desirable things going on for a guy.
