Why Your Hair Shouldn't Relate To Public Morals

I'm talking about your whole perception from other people changing based on your hairstyle such as cutting your hair, changing the texture or wearing extensions. I see this specifically with black people when it comes to wearing extensions or straightening hair. Since my hair is chemically straightened dying my hair can cause great damage and bleaching it would burn my hair off since the two chemicals have a negative reaction. I also like wearing my hair short and long. I obviously can't do both with my hair since that would be permanent. I like bright colors like blue or hot red ombre so the obvious option to getting that without going bald or having a permanent outcome is weave.

I feel that people forget that other races of women do the same thing. There are Asian and white women born with curly hair but chemically straighten it, or get colored extensions for similar reasons yet it seems like black women get the most flack online. Maintaining curly hair isn't easy for everyone so it irritates me as someone who had to maintain curly and straight hair for people to judge us as self haters. In my experience, I have been treated the same by regardlpeople and have gotten compliments regardless of whether I had a weave, my real hair out, short hair or long hair. So I feel that women should do whatever they want with their hair despite the naysayers, it is on YOUR head afterall. A new hair do doesn't always equal self hate... what makes you happy is the thing that matters the most.

I enjoyed that take from the educational point of view - I didn't realise it had become such an issue - I agree wear whatever you are happy with - I think expressions such as "Cultural Appropriation" and "Self hating" are going too far, if your hairstyle is not demeaning or offensive to a group often it is a praise of said group or a self beautification - My point is if you think a hairstyle makes you more beautiful, is it not the case you are still a young black girl before and after - it is not like you have dramatically altered yourself to look like another race.

But here's the thing though, "non-black women" usually still look like the same "hair wise", right? Which is why I admittedly don't care when I see them wearing hair extensions now. Since it blends in with what they look like "normally".

Now when it comes to our women that's not the case. So with that being said, can't we see why black women catch the most flack for it? Cuz they look the most different and usually it never a "look" that they'd be born with (just saying)

Straight hair isn't the only option people tend to get that because of the apperance, it's less likely to get tangled and looks longer with no curl affect. People also get different textures of curly hair. I've done it with crochet braids. lf you see someone with natural hair they could be wearing a weave. Straight hair is also not limited to Asian and white women, they can be born with curly or kinky textured hair too. My overall message is that what people do with their hair shouldn't matter.

Those two girls at the top are twins. I am too and hope to meet them in the near future. I honestly think girls should go more natural, stop with the weave, its messing up your money and messing up your real hair. Natural beauty last longer if you take care of it. So girls rock that natural and listen to no ones negativity because only you can rock it right. ok bye. ;3
