Both Sides of the Coin: Why Both Anti-Feminist and Feminist Arguments are Wrong

If you are going to make an argument against feminism or for feminism, at least make sure you are arguing logical points, and not just looking for a reason to call someone a feminist or anti feminist, simply because you are looking for a reason to attach negativity to a label.

In fact, I see this all the time online and in real life. I see users online, and people in real life who jump to call someone a feminist, just because they hate their opinion on something that has nothing to do with feminism or anti feminist. But do not worry I just came to explain that....

People against feminism: you are no better than feminist who call people misogynist or insensitive

People for feminism: you are no better than anti feminist who call people sluts or too sensitive

It is one thing to label someone, but it is another thing simply to label someone for your own agenda.

A woman who wants equality does not necessarily make a person a feminist.

A woman who cares about men's rights does not automatically make a person an anti feminist.

Both sides look stupid when they desperately attach a label to something negative just to try to put down the other side without a valid argument other than, "you look ugly you must be a feminist" or "you think men's rights should be represented, you must be against feminism". I am not sure if it is a knee jerk reaction or a defense mode, but it is ridiculous and childish.

I'm against feminism, the reason is very simple, its wrong. It presupposes, lies and obfuscates the truth. Feminism isn't about equality and never has been, this is a provable fact. So when a feminist states she wants equality for women she is provably wrong because you cannot have equality of the genders for only one gender. You cannot claim you want equality but ensure that one gender has no rights (as is the case with men having no rights comparitive to women, a divide feminist actively push for every time they claim sexism or that women are oppressed). So no, being anti feminist isn't wrong, as long as every argument is logical and has evidence to back it (which every argument femnist have made that I have heard/read have not been).

I might be the only girl I know who doesn't identify as a feminist. I am all for equality for the genders but that's just it: EQUAL-ity. The sheer fact that feminism's root is female tells me that it isn't about being equal its about "proving" that women are either a: better than men. Or b: just as good and capable as men (but by putting down men in the process). Cliche i know but can't we all just get along? I know women who get upset when a man holds the door open for them because they feel "belittled"! This is why the next generation of men are all gonna be little pussy's and chivalry is leaving the station! I for one love it when a guy sweeps me off my feet and holds open the door. I am an anti-feminist. The reason is simply because feminism is a hate movement. (yes I can put forth sources, but I shouldn't have to). I am becoming an MRA. Now I have addressed the issue of definition in a my take: www.girlsaskguys.com/.../a27260-the-definition-of-feminism-my-proposed-revision I do not dislike the individuals within the movement, it's the actions of the movement itself that I have issues with. When policy, laws, and social norms directly reflect feminist propaganda that is the issue, not individual beliefs. When such things as male rape victims are punished for being raped, these are real issues and should be addressed. When "primary aggressor" policy becomes de-facto law it's important to address. There are real issues that affect real people, and gender politics is both viable and important. And communication, education, etc. is the way that you address these issues, this is a war of political awareness.

If you support equality, then you must be against any movement that is sexist or racist. If feminism is only for the issues of women, as it clearly is, then it is in fact promoting sexism, while pretending to be for equality. I must therefore stand against that mindset, and expose it for what it is.

You seem to think that being an anti feminist is the same as supporting men's rights activist movements, and that is not the case. I don't support feminism, or MRA's which are both only concerned with their own gender. I do however consider myself an anti feminist. Why? Because I will not support a sexist movement that only cares about one gender, no matter which gender that is.

This post is merely a fed up individual shouting because she's sick of the dispute. She's given no real reason for anyone to agree that both sides are wrong.

Nice try but Anti Feminism is a skeptic movement. They are against Feminism for a huge list of reasons based on logic and evidence.

The biggest challenged faced by Anti Feminists is the amount of explaining it takes to debunk a simple Feminist catch phrase. Because of this lots of people tend to skim the surface of the Anti Feminist issue and make a false assessment of it, like you have done.

Isn't in the middle itself a stance? I personally find anti-feminist and feminist to be wrong. "Oh but women's rights" "oh but men are discriminated against" well the reality is both men and women are suppressing one another. It's about being fair. You don't even need a word for it, it should already be obvious. Men are not better than women, women are not better than men. Both are different but both are equally valuable as a human being. Both are needed to produce more humans so for that reason alone both are important. The key isn't greater to the lock and the lock isn't greater to the key. Both compliment each other.

this. this is why this whole equality in all aspect is BS. Do I agree with women getting votes? YES. because they consist a part of society. Do I agree with equal wage? YES; I highly believe you should be rewarded fairly based on your efforts. Do I agree that we should attack the traditional gender roles? I think this explains the whole "nice guys" and the "independent female" phenomena. Both sides try to apply what they find attractive on the other genders onto theirselves, failing to realise that they actually repel most of the people they're trying to attract; because a negative and a negative does not attract each other.

nice guys that try to attract females by being submissive (because this is the behaviour they find feminine, behaviour they desire from the other sex) aren't really the pick of the bunch in comparison to a confident man that knows how to lead. this is because; suprisingly, females tend to be attracted to a masculine aura; its natural.

My argument is and will always be this: to treat two groups of people equally, you have to stop seeing them as two groups. Therefore feminism is the wrong approach, just like "men's rights advocacy" and all that nonsense. All of these movements are pretty much fighting inequality with inequality.
