It's not homophobic to have a dating preference, just like it's not racist, sexist, etc. The person you choose to be with should match only your criteria and no ones else's. Anyone who says otherwise is a tyrant asshole.

Don't you think people should be able to choose who they date? Why should they have to justify themselves to anyone? You or anyone else can make that decision. You call what you want... I don't think anyone gives a shit.
No it's not. Some people are possessive and don't like to share. How can you expect someone to just be ok with you having someone on the side, if they won't or don't want to try it? Selfish.
Sigh. I know that. I'm sorry i didn't spell it out for you word by word. Ok, some hetero people have had different partners. Some have not. And some are very promiscuous. So those people don't believe in monogamy. It doesn't automatically mean they cheat. Same for bisexuals. So pls explain your point.
@Mesmaeker first, calling someone homophobic for not dating bisexuals is extremely manipulative. It is being used to make the person go along with their lifestyle when they may not be into it. Second, the way this article is phrased completely ignores personal preference. It is ignoring the individual in favor of the narrative. Which is complete horseshit. Every person has different preferences. It has always been this way. You also cannot ask someone to be ok with , or to join in with, your lifestyle choice just because you have always been that way. Either let them decide or find someone into it.
You also can't expect someone to be ok with you having a man or woman on the side, or be ok with a three some, or what not just because your bi. This is also ignoring preference
just because someone is bisexual does not mean 1 they want someone on the side 2 they want you to have someone on the side 3 they want a threesome. it has nothing to do with sharing. also monogamy and bisexuality are definitely not antonyms, monogamy and polygamy are though. and just because someone is bisexual does not mean they are interested in polygamy. bisexual simply means they are attracted to both sexes.
I am bisexual, but I dont think its homophobic to not want to date someone who is bi. It is a preference. Everyone has a preference to what kind of people that like to date, despite race, creed, religion or sexuality.
I've dated bi-sexual girls before. Generally the people's hold ups from dating a bisexual man/woman is that they sleep around more and there's no correlation between that. Cheating is cheating regardless of what gender.
Having said that, I don't think that's homophobic but a preference. For example, I have no issue with transgender people, but I still wouldn't date a transgender person. I want the woman to be born woman. But what a transgender person does with their life is their own business.
I don't think that's a good example, I'm not attracted to black men, but that doesn't mean I find them disgusting nor would who someone has dated influence my decision
I never said you did. Thats called a personal preference.
The example i gave is the equivalent to whats happening when people think the idea of their potential partner having sex with the same sex is disgusting , and they wouldn't date someone who would do that.
The hypothetical person who thinks its disgusting or offputting to imagine their partner dating a black person and wouldn't date anybody that would date a black person is the same thing.
Thats defined as having hatred or negative feelings towards a group of people or their actions , which in the example is dating black people, in the myTake its dating a bisexual who finds the same sex attractive.
Now not dating a black person only because you dont find their facial features attractive is a preference. The same as if you wouldn't date a bisexual AND thinking the idea of them finding the same sex attractive, dating or having sex with was offputting or gross wasn't a reason.
I don't hate gay people, but I don't agree it's right, that's the only reason I wouldn't date someone with those views cause we'd likely not agree on religious things either
The fact that You dont think its right means you have a problems with homesexual behavior , which is what made you not want to date a bisexual, which is what you just admitted and what this myTake was about.
Okay, the points across, and i never said you have a deep hated for homosexuals if you do it. I said when you reject them for these specific reasons its homophobia or just negative feelings about it. I never you guys were extemists for it
So is it a discriminatory for a gay woman to refuse to date a heterosexual male? OR maybe let people do want THEY want

She didn't find him attractive not because he's straight, but because she doesn't find guys attractive. If she found him attractive and would date him but didn't date him because he's straight and not bi , being straight disgusts her... Then she is heterophobic
Man, people find the most ridiculous reasons to be offended, and try to make people feel like shit because they DON'T agree with some else's opinions. From the logic you just presented it is a form of discrimination if you refuse to date someone for having been convicted of a crime, and being found guilty WHEN you find that criminal attractive. Maybe that person can't get past someone doing what they interpret as wrong. MAYBE let people date who they want. People like you cry for acceptance and diversity for people of various ethnicities, races, sexual orientations, and religious backgrounds. BUT when it comes to someone having an opinion other than your own, you persecute them calling them bigots, misogynists, ignorant, and HOMOPHOBES until they stop talking or believe what you say. That's not acceptance, that's indoctrination!
Your original argeuemtn didn't make sense. Did even read my response.
To your original post , if someone doesn't find black peoples facial feautures attractive and doesn't date them because of it, does that make them racist because they dont find tha race attractive and assuming have no negative feelings towards them?
Thats the equivelent to the question you asked me.
My response is NO they aren't racist for it.
My comment's racial equivalent is NO they aren't racist for it. But if they did find black people attractive but wouldn't date them because they are disgusted with their race and look down on them, then yes thats racist.
Just like a black person isn't racist for not dating white people because they dont find their facial features attractive and they dont have negative feelings towards them.
But he is racist if he finds white people attractive but doesn't date them because he's disgusted with white race and has negative feelings towards them.
Its homophobic when its for the reasons i listed, the thought of your partner finding the same sex attractive disgusts you to the point you won't date them anymore.
The other reasons likely aren't homophobic. If someone you knew said to you "I wouldn't date anybody who dated you or would date you. The thought of someone finding you attractive and dating you disgusts me. I'll be their freind and ill be your friend so it means i have no negative beliefs or feelings towards you. Have a good day."
Do you beleive that means they dont have negative beliefs about you?
* does that mean they dont have negative beliefs about you, the people who dated you, or their actions about dating you (Which is the point im trying to make, the negative feelings about their actions)
Biphobia and homophobia overlap. For example, a woman who won't date bisexual guys because she thinks gay sex/attraction is gross (homophobia), and because she believes bisexual guys are never faithful partners (biphobia).
So some blood banks that won't take gay or bisexual men's blood. They are homophobic too? The health system? Huh?

So no one on this earth can have a personal preference now days without being homophobic, a racist, a sexist, and every other -ist and phobic word out there? I guess we should just have a fucking free for all orgy so we don't offend anyone.
Can't even begin to tell you how tired and overused the word homophobic is. If you don't agree with every aspect of the lgbt agenda, you're a homophobe. Seriously, get over selves.

Cheating and being bisexual are two different things.
@Mesmaeker no shit. But expecting someone to go along with bisexuality, when they believe in monogamy, is not right either.
Hetero's are also not monogamous
@Mesmaeker there are some people who still believe in monogamy. You're generalizing.
Sigh. I know that. I'm sorry i didn't spell it out for you word by word. Ok, some hetero people have had different partners. Some have not. And some are very promiscuous. Being bisexual has nothing to do with having someone on the side. Bisexual people aren't anymore likely to cheat than heterosexual people are.
just because someone is bisexual does not mean 1 they want someone on the side 2 they want you to have someone on the side 3 they want a threesome. it has nothing to do with sharing. also monogamy and bisexuality are definitely not antonyms, monogamy and polygamy are though. and just because someone is bisexual does not mean they are interested in polygamy. bisexual simply means they are attracted to both sexes.

I would date a bi guy!!! or hell a chick even although haven't been with a girl yet I am openminded.
And that, dear GaGers, is why one should think before write a whole lot of smelly BS.
I've dated bi-sexual girls before. Generally the people's hold ups from dating a bisexual man/woman is that they sleep around more and there's no correlation between that. Cheating is cheating regardless of what gender.

Sex and sexual history says a lot about a person. If a girl eats out other girls or a guy likes dick... That's going to gross out a LOT of people.
#reality #sorrynotsorry
Why is it homophobic to disagree with someone's choices?
I consider the same as the fact I wouldn't date a non Christian guy
It's not a choice, for starters.
Its like how its racist to not date someone because theyve dated a black person before. And the thought of people dating black people disgusts you.
@AssJacket I think it is a choice
I don't think that's a good example, I'm not attracted to black men, but that doesn't mean I find them disgusting nor would who someone has dated influence my decision

Thats the difference from personal preference to
With hate or prejudice towards the group
I don't hate gay people, but I don't agree it's right, that's the only reason I wouldn't date someone with those views cause we'd likely not agree on religious things either
The fact that You dont think its right means you have a problems with homesexual behavior , which is what made you not want to date a bisexual, which is what you just admitted and what this myTake was about.
Yes but I don't hate the individuals, I'd still be nice to them
Okay, the points across, and i never said you have a deep hated for homosexuals if you do it. I said when you reject them for these specific reasons its homophobia or just negative feelings about it. I never you guys were extemists for it

So is it a discriminatory for a gay woman to refuse to date a heterosexual male? OR maybe let people do want THEY want

I had a feeling most people would disagree with this take... Well you're only wrong about one thing... The word for this is technically biphobia.
But otherwise, I agree with you.
Your right. @sixnineanon said it too.
I wish i could change this to saying your biphobic instead
The word is most commonly insecure.
@heavensgift2girls Correct
Biphobia and homophobia overlap. For example, a woman who won't date bisexual guys because she thinks gay sex/attraction is gross (homophobia), and because she believes bisexual guys are never faithful partners (biphobia).
Talk about intolerance, you sure aren't very tolerant of other people's views are you.
So some blood banks that won't take gay or bisexual men's blood. They are homophobic too? The health system? Huh?
So no one on this earth can have a personal preference now days without being homophobic, a racist, a sexist, and every other -ist and phobic word out there? I guess we should just have a fucking free for all orgy so we don't offend anyone.
y do people think relationships form with whomever u just randomly fall in love w/...
you gotta choose to hang out with someone first before any of that love stuff happens.
Whether it's homophobic or not, I don't care. I still won't date bisexuals.
Can't even begin to tell you how tired and overused the word homophobic is. If you don't agree with every aspect of the lgbt agenda, you're a homophobe. Seriously, get over selves.
I couldn't agree more.
It's just a preference but one that I'd be cool with.
I'd date a bi girl but a bi guy would be friend zoned :D :D
