Let's Talk About Death, Baby

Hi Gagers, in the past two days I have noticed a lot of questions about death. The most common questions asked were --

"What happens after death?" And/or

"Are you afraid of death?"

So, today I'm going to address my opinion on these questions. I'm not religious but I'm not against religion just so y'all know.

First Question:

"What happens after death?"

Some believe in reincarnation, heaven & hell, or nothing depending on their religion or lack of belief. (I'm sure there are more things people believe but I'm not a religion expert so I listed the common answers I see to the question.)

My Response: I think people should stop trying to live in the future & should spend their time in the present. What is the point of getting worked up about it if you're not dead, you're alive right now, so LIVE. If there is nothing after death then you might as well make your living life as great as possible. Same with heaven/hell & reincarnation, you're not there yet, so make your life NOW the best it can be.

Second Question:

"Are you afraid of death?"

I can't speak for you guys so I'm going to go ahead and skip to my response.

My Response: Guyzzzz, we're all gonna die! We shouldn't get to worked up about this. I'm not afraid of death or dying, does this mean I don't care for my life? Ah, no, I'm just living in the present! Of course, I don't want to die at a young age (I plan to do things with my life) but that doesn't mean I'm scared of dying/death. I know people are scared of the unknown, because they don't have control over what happens and all that jazz, but in my mind... Who doesn't want a little mystery in life. 😜

My Overall Message:

Also, don't fret about something you have no control over. You have no control so why worry?

What if my purpose in life is not just "living the life"?
That can be the case for animals, but I believe we are here for a purpose, and not just to live and die. This life is a test, we get tested with our health, wealth, family, you name it, and it's how we handle these tests, how we live our life, how our relationship with our Creator is, how we obey and worship God that count for the test result. We get judged based on this, and get to go to heaven or hell. But all this cannot be changed after death, so it's not live the life when you are alive and think about the afterlife when you get there...

What happens after you die?
You decompose and become a part of the earth. Eventually. Who knows maybe when the sun blows up maybe it becomes a nebula (I don't know a lot of science don't quote me) we become pretty colors in the universe. That's pretty cool

I don't think people are afraid of dying. I think they're afraid of dying and wasting their life or, at the very least, the pain that comes with it. Not many people go quick and painless.

Most people dont fear death. They fear if what they thought was bullshit while they were alive is actually real.

Yeah, the fear of their belief being wrong. That's why as long as you be a good person I don't see how you can go wrong.

Actually believers know there is a afterlife. its the ones who dont believe who fear death. And we are supposed to be good people thats a given its beliving in jesus word and that died for your sins that gets you into heaven. For Buddhist you get reincarnated thousands of times until your good enough for utopia or hell.

I don't have a belief but It doesn't matter to me what happens after death.

i mean your 16 it doesn't matter to most teenagers. Death isn't a thought

But many are religious and have their belief of what happens after death

isn't like 85% people under 25 are athiest? But still think their maybe a afterlife. Most people think about what happens after death when they get a certain age and mature and see the world differently.

Either way, my belief then is as long as your a good person, you will not be damned after death. Even if a person is not religious, it's not always their fault. They just didn't have the chance to be introduced to religion & so it's not a part of daily life for them, no one should be punished for that in my opinion.
