Teenagers, or also known as adolescents, are pacing journeys to one milestone: young adulthood. We have our fair share of struggles we just wish to vanish and not meddle with our lives anymore. However, we need to overcome them for life's sake.

As a teen myself, I can attest to these five points I have shared and elaborated.

1. School

For instance, school. It's hard to even bother studying subjects we're not really interested in. It's hard to deal with homework when you have other urgent agenda. It's hard to deal with arrogant, unapproachable, and inconsiderate teachers. It's a challenge for us to stay up late at night for projects and recreation yet wake up early for school.

Even following every school rule can be a pain in the ass. Nothing's more tedious than school itself.

This place is the so-called breeding ground of torment for the really unenthusiastic and the breeding ground of success for the devoted, studious folks.

Few of the things teens like about school are:

• Prom
• Friends/ classmates
• Suspension of classes (mostly due to typhoons, here in our area)
• Dismissal time

2. Age Discrimination

To many people, age seems to validate or invalidate the credibility of opinions/advice/rebuttals. That is plain display of derogatory discrimination, to me. Anyone else tired of being called naïve and illogical because of merely being a teenager?

"You're only [age]; you can't be so sure."

"Too bad you're only [age] because I'm [older age] so I have to say I know more than you do."

"Oh, so how could you be so sure? You're only [age]."

An old woman had ridiculed me in public after accidentally bumping on her despite my apologies. She went as far as labeling us teenagers as, "uncivilized", and, "lacking manners." All of those for just an accident?

3. Identity Crisis

People know that teenagers are constantly baffled by profound questions like:

"Who am I, really?"

"What do I want to be?"

"What would I want to do before I die?"

"What would a successful life mean to me?"

"Shall I just go with the flow?"

4. Time Management

We, teens, need to follow time management for us to become productive. Unfortunately, we have our own share of hurdles restricting the discipline in order for this to be observed:

Procrastination, spending many hours in the Internet, and the like.

Who would have thought that a simple crush on someone could lead to something more? At our fairly young age, there goes some of us who take the risk of rejection and the ones who venture into relationships.

You might be thinking, "What do you think is tiresome here?"

Well,

• It becomes tiresome when one wishes that he/she would stop thinking about her/him!

• It becomes tiresome when keeps on dreaming, hoping, and fantasizing instead of making a move.

• It becomes tiresome if one still continues to believe that there is a chance even though rejection has been imposed.
• It becomes tiresome when it negatively meddles with school, friends, and self-love.
