I disagree with the practice of marrying someone who is wealthier than oneself. With so many women already in well-paid and comfy positions, the men who are held to even higher expectations are scrutinized for their wealth and earning potential. When these men put more time in work, hold more dangerous and risky jobs, and make more money than women, people start complaining that men and women must be "paid equally". When a woman has the same or higher salary than a man, she may look down at the man and reject him as a partner based solely on his current income and earning potential.
As America tends to emphasize monogamy over polygamy, female hypergamy is simply wrong and unsustainable. It is wrong, because the women value money too much and put too much emphasis on money over human worth. It is unsustainable, because the men at the bottom of the achievement ladder will never find a soulmate, which will lead to less families being made, which will lead to less children (due to monogamy), which will lead to a decrease in the future economy as there will be less future adults to support the society. In addition, because of monogamy and female hypergamy working together, high-achieving males may have intercourse with less attractive females out of wedlock, producing an excessive number of single mothers and illegitimate children. The mothers may demand child support from the fathers, but then they will still receive censure for being a social leech.
If women want to marry up, then they must do these things:
- seek only blue-collar jobs
Working women cannot seek well-paid, office jobs or white-color jobs. They must seek blue-collar jobs with a lot of menial labor. If they seek white-collar jobs and earn as much money as men while still holding the desire to marry up, then they would have a very narrow selection of men to choose from. Therefore, women must hold blue-collar jobs and inferior positions in society to have more choices for men.
- live on public assistance
If women do not have jobs, then they may have to live on public assistance.
- live with parents, grandparents, or elderly relatives
Alternatively, women may live with parents, grandparents, and elderly relatives. A woman exchanges her personal freedom for familial protection and support.
- become extremely skilled at cooking, meal planning, and shopping for healthy bargains
Women must be extremely skilled at cooking, meal planning, and shopping for healthy bargains. Those things are mandatory, if the woman wants to become a good housewife. The ability to go shopping for healthy bargains means that she knows how to use her husband's money resourcefully to buy healthy food. The ability to plan meals and cook means she knows how to make healthy food for her family, so that her husband and children will be well fed and nourished. She cannot have any "me" time, unless her family allows her to have "me" time.
- raise younger siblings
If a woman has younger siblings, then she must help her parents raise them.
- know how to keep a tidy house
If a woman knows how to keep a tidy house, then that means she knows how to minimize the exposure to illness and that she is organized and clear-headed.
- obey the patriarch of the family
A woman must obey the patriarch of the family, her husband or her husband's father, whoever's older. And the men of the household must respect the woman.
- be a virgin at marriage
Typically, men do not want to marry non-virgins. To maximize a woman's marriage potential, she must be virginal. That said, if a man takes a woman's virginity outside of marriage, then he shall be punished severely, because he has completely ruined her worth and must pay the price. Because the woman may be permanently unmarriageable, the man have to be forced to marry the woman and provide for her children.
- must begin looking for a suitor at 13 years of age
Female teenagers currently date. Instead of dating the boys from school, the girls must seriously consider marrying grown men. Their families may intervene in the courtship process and organize one-on-one, chaperoned dates with other families who have sons about the same age or older. That way, the female may marry at 18 years of age or somewhere in her twenties.
- must not complain by marrying someone old and ugly but extremely wealthy
If a woman's family has selected an extremely ugly and old man with money, then the woman cannot complain. She must be married to him. (Hey, at least she doesn't have to work.)
- remain faithful at all times to their husbands
A woman must remain faithful at all times to her husband. If she commits adultery, then she must receive severe punishment and public humiliation, teaching other women a lesson. To make sure a woman does not catch the gaze of a passing male, she must keep her hair covered, and her womanly figure must be hidden. The plain appearance should be enough to decrease unwanted sexual attraction from men.
The points above emphasize the domestic role of women. If women were to marry up and find a husband, then it'll be considerably easier for each woman to become housewives than for each woman to occupy white-collar jobs that pay six-figure salaries. Of course, real women aren't willing to give up their liberties in exchange for dependence to any man. So, real women simply cannot get paid well and also expect a suitor to get paid even more at the same time.
This hypergamous expectation from women puts unnecessary burden on men, forcing men to put more time into work than women, hold more risky and dangerous but very well-paid jobs than women, and be absent in their own children's lives as nurturing fathers. If men are absent in their children's lives as co-caregivers, then this will influence the court's decision to remove them from custody.
As you can see, female hypergamy supports sexism and must stop. It hurts men and women. Instead of marrying up, women must marry men that are most compatible to their lifestyles.
