In sum, gun control is impractical and ineffective against criminals, while reducing the defensive capabilities of legitimate citizens who choose to be armed. Rather than banning any particular weapon, we must restrict people who are driven by fanaticism, mental illness or criminal intent from acting on their impulses.

Suppose we DO confiscate the guns. Will politicians and the 1% go unprotected? Not a chance! Only ordinary people will be defenseless. What will your life be worth then?

This is a very well written myTake, very cogent and compelling. Trying to control guns merely fools some people into believing that they are accomplishing something to reduce gun violence while distracting people from tending to the real causes of violence in our society.
