“Regarded better” and “thought of as prettier” are very different things. In Latin America or Africa, women of color of that country would be regarded as the most beautiful. The States is a predominantly European country, of course our media finds white Women more attractive.

@VaIiant Not just in America, I know people from all over the world, I live in Florida. I used to teach English as a second language, so I met lots of people. They really like blondes. Have you ever looked at Asian chicks? Half of them have dyed blonde hair.

Uh, for many Asians, very pale skin is natural.
@VaIiant There is a difference between having pale skin and white skin. Japanese people can have pale skin but that actually is not the norm for most Asians, who still have tannish skin. And it is wrong the way a lot of them love pale skin and how so many Asian women only love white men.

This is a complex matter. On the one hand, women want to be acknowledged for their looks. On the other hand, they don't want to be judged by them. Guys have to walk a thin line, or they are accused of being superficial or sexually objectifying women...
It only creates a minority of people to create and support a stereotype, thus I'm not claiming stereotypes are rational. However, there they are. I try to get to know each person as an individual.

It could be worse. You could be a black girl like me and people treated you like you are a ghetto loud mean and obnoxious and some think you are ugly just because your skin is darker. I'd be a blonde white girl in a heartbeat.
We have a convoluted social structure these days. As a man, I think we must judge how to treat a woman by the queues you display. Soe women what traditional values, some prefer feminism etc
